Usually, a car's reliability and quality are determined by its manufacturing process—how its QA and other departments conduct tests. Whether they perform thorough testing, gather feedback, and make improvements. This is an ongoing cycle: test, fix, test, fix—continuously improving quality to the max. But not all companies do these. Some cut corners and speed up production, prioritizing sales over quality. Their mindset is that as long as the design is good, people will buy. This is why Toyota is very reliable—they run extensive tests and continuously improve. It comes down to culture and management. That’s why some cultures produce high-quality cars, while others do not. |

QUOTE(ceras @ Mar 25 2025, 06:15 PM) ICE drivers don't need that kind of speed. They want the fun of having a certain type of gearbox, handling, engine sound, the fun of driving. Speed is not their priority, but fun driving is, which EV could not offer as of now. |

QUOTE(duplicated @ Mar 25 2025, 06:11 PM) Usually, a car's reliability and quality are determined by its manufacturing process—how its QA and other departments conduct tests. Whether they perform thorough testing, gather feedback, and make improvements. Kinda disagree with the Toyota parts, they just carryover old, unchanged engine on our region for the sake of reliability or more profitable practice? Other regions getting a newer engine (dynamic force engine) here, last time as usual old engine with tuning (down hp/Nm, remove tyre spare) to getting better FC. Not to mention always Brothers Shop HU for our market. For Peugeot, back in 308 1.6T problematic era, its not just technician lacked of skill etc that make the problem big, the design error is main parts for the problem, especially the timing chain parts design , HPFP pumps and turbo parts. Then they got recall program but only those who still service their car at SC iinm. Thats why if people ask to buy 2013-2016 car with this 1.6T Engine, please stop doing so even it is a Citroen, Mini Cooper or Peugeot. If read online, they had massive improvement made to the newer engine, let alone this Pure Tech. This post has been edited by ayamxxx: Mar 26 2025, 07:10 AM |
