Worked in one before.
Promotions are hard to come by as well as scaling the corporate ladder.
Also our salaries were paid on the beginning of the month. Not nice waiting.

MNC China company, first month sudah OT sampai 8/9pm
My direct superior workaholic, family all in china weekends he will be in office, why? Nothing to do at home so he go office.
Can't plan go out on weekends cuz anytime he will message to ask for xx report and it's always "emergency"
Pay is good but if you start calculate the OT then it's not worth it anymore. Worst case is I can't read Chinese and all of their platform documents all in Chinese and they expect you to understand all of them.
Once I had to leave friend convocation halfway just to give him his report.

not much information sounds fishy, i know a lot of them doing gambling here, can pay very good salary. OT can claim, got fruit everyday lunch time :X
but whole management is from china, speak canto or mandarin only in meeting :X
my friend work in a asset management company recently, the culture also similar to local chinaman, everytime putar putar, and the business very fishy, very hush hush, he only can nod his head and do what is being told, no question ask, but when shit hits the fan, he kena blame. :X

Crazy everyday rush rush work type. Though they cant do much push to me for now as my work is highly technical and already one year they still cannot find other workers.

No, for me, I'm about to submit my resignation letter. My current boss at the company in China is terrible, not gonna lie. If you apply for your own leave, the boss is not happy. If you try to request a better computer due to work issues, they won’t approve it, and the big boss rejects your request. They’re always finding ways to cut employee benefits. Overtime can only be claimed for a minimum of 2 hours, and for 1 hour of overtime, you only get a fixed RM10. My boss even tries to avoid giving you overtime when it's almost hitting the 2-hour mark.

QUOTE(avinlim @ Feb 27 2025, 02:47 PM) Recently I came across a job hunt and been in interview with one china based company in Malaysia. I search across all online still got limited pieces of information about the company. Is it safe working with a china based company in Malaysia? My worry is they suddenly fire employee and may left me no job, late salary payment and also unstablity due to the company is not Malaysia based. Should I proceed? Any advice and thanks in advance. I saw one advert of a top china bed company based in KL. In the advert it was posting for a job position in USA. I was wondering, why the heck they need a Msian to be based in USA ? China has so many of their talents, why they need to get a msian?

Not nice waiting. not unless you are one of their fellow comrades. If you speak mandarin well, that's an advantage, still...they prefer their own people for promotions.

Each country have their own definition.Malaysia treat angpao as pocket money. Others might just think it as token only and you based your boss on angpao alone

The problem with China company is they don’t trust you, a local Chinese as much as they trust their own people. So it can sometimes make life a bit difficult when you are kept in the dark
