Story is...
I get called for IV with 2 Comp, A&B. Both are single stage, means after IV direct offer dy.

Comp A IV: 26th Feb
Comp B IV: 28th Feb

As for Comp A. They issued the Offer Letter rlly fast like one day after the IV and the most of an extension I can get is probably till next Wed which i prolly assume Comp B won't even issue me OL yet by then. (They got disclose that they're urgent hires.)

I haven't gone into IV with Comp B yet.

Now here's my dilemma.

Scenario1:
I sign OL with Comp A and go IV with Comp B as usual. If get OL, and favourable, resign from A and go to B. Cons of this scenario will be me having a bad name in Comp A. Possibly forever.....

Scenario 2:
Reject Comp A, and wait for Comp B IV. Cons of this is what if Comp B reject me as a candidat pulak? Then I'll be losing on both ends.

Any wise advise here will be needed. Thanks!!

both company will be offering same salary? how far is the company from your home? what is your ecpected role?

there are a lot of questions you need to ask yourself.

usually you will roughly know if they want to hire you or not during interview. if comp A offer you, let say this friday, you can say let you think for fe days then ask comp B if there is any chance next week.

Take A and if B is better, take it too. You are unlikely to be onboard A yet, unless you start next week. Also, will give you a chance to look at how A works.

A is just one company out of thousands out there. So getting blacklisted by one, wont matter.

Comp A and Comp B salary almost the same with maybe few benefits here and there. Difference is the location.
Comp A's location is somewhere within KLCC area whilst Comp B is in Cyberjaya area. I'm OK with both because I myself not from KL, so I got the leverage of relocation (not tie to 1 area).

Comp B is MNC (datacenter industry) while Comp A seems like SME (BPO industry). I personally see more growth (things to learn) in Comp B just because of the industry it focuses.

Yeah, I was thinking of pulling this move la.. because A wanted to onboard me by next week. Which is really fast. (Im not sure why they dont have a 1month buffer hiring timeline). Is it okay to leave during training week tho and do I have to 'formally' tender resignation ah?

Start working for A...

But tell them you want to really scrutinize the contract before signing...so probably need a few days.

Then at the same time scout at company B as well.

If company B is better then switch. brows.gif

Slight bias towards B. because its an industry I've never went in before. I was not from an IT-background, but chance presented itself plus was head-hunted. That's why I'm interest in B but if B is not interested in me, then I'll be on the losing end on both, huge GG too haha.

Nope, not employed. I left employment for relocation and holistic reasons. Life threw a curveball and I left for my hometown. =( Hence, A saw it as a chance to on-board me ASAP.

oh, in this case, you can on board to A first while waiting for B OL comes around ; though a bit unethical to do so tongue.gif

In this case I would suggest you to just take the company A and work for a year or 2 before looking out again. Opportunities are always there. Instead of making ur name busuk and risking losing offers from both companies. This is a different game if YOU ARE CURRENTLY EMPLOYED which you can afford to wait and look for better opportunities.

grab the lower hanging fruit first I would say. anyhow, if you join comp A then wana quit during first month, you still need to tender resgination formally. you are abided by the contract, who knows the offer from comp b never arrive, then at least you can feed yourself.

DC role need to standy 24 x 7 or not? usually if you are technical, that is a shift job. while you can earn OT. and more work life balance in MNC "usually"

BPO I am not so familiar with. SME usually less work life balance depends on the boss tongue.gif

I see, thank you all for sharing your insights.

Funny thing for this DC role, the shift disclosed to me was M-F (9-6), standard office hours, so I'm guessing there's no OT kot. But maybe because I'm not on the Technical end but rather on the client-end. Reading the JD seems very client service-oriented.

just go for Comp A first. You never know if you will be hired in Comp B at all. After that, still continue to interview at Comp B. If Comp B offer comes, then only reevaluate which option you intended to go for.
