My S25U had subpar battery life too during initial use - the phone got warm easily for simple tasks, battery was barely better than an already-1-year old S24U. This despite setting up the phone as new instead of Smart Switch/ restore from back-up. The only thing restored from back-up was WhatsApp.

So.... I reset the thing and set it up again. Now the battery life is really good. I wondered what went wrong during the first set up as I did the same things after resetting it and setting up again.

It was a hassle to set up the banking apps again after full reset but at least I know it was not due to hardware (battery) problem.
*
Yea that one of the benefit of using Android. Happened to me when I update one Ui6.1 last time most app open black screen and hang. Needed me format the entire phone to fix it. It can also happen after update

I have a special voucher code. With it, when stack with trade-in rebate and CIMB payment, a 256GB S25 is RM2,700 and a 256GB S25 Ultra is RM4,200.

Only one person can use it. If you are happy, you can give me back a little something if you want, or if you don't, it's okay as well.

What the value of that voucher? Why the way you make it sound its like a good deal but not good deal but price is awesome

Guide to Optimizing Your Samsung Phone for Longevity and Stability

Keeping your phone running smoothly for years isn’t just about avoiding drops and scratches—it’s about how you set it up and maintain it. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you extend the life of your Samsung phone, improve battery health, and keep performance stable over time.

Step 1: Update Your Phone First

Before transferring any data, update your phone to the latest software version. This ensures you have the latest bug fixes and security patches.

✅ Why?

• Fixes bugs that might slow down your phone.
• Ensures the best compatibility with apps and accessories.
• Improves security against hackers and malware.

⚠ Pro Tip: After about two major Android updates, your phone might slow down slightly due to heavier software. If your phone is still running well, you don’t always need to update right away—wait and see how the update performs for others first.

Step 2: Factory Reset for a Fresh Start

After updating, reset your phone to factory settings. This ensures a clean installation without any leftover files from previous versions.

✅ Why?

• Removes old junk files that could slow down your device.
• Clears any lingering software bugs from updates.

⚠ Optional Step: You can also clear the cache partition before resetting, but a full reset is often better.

Step 3: Install Apps the Right Way

• Use Google Drive to restore your WhatsApp—let the app handle it.
• Install apps fresh from the Play Store instead of transferring them from an old phone.

✅ Why?

• Avoids carrying over unnecessary files or corrupted data.
• Ensures apps are up-to-date with the latest optimizations.

Step 4: Use Routines to Save Battery

Samsung’s Routines feature automates settings to extend battery life and optimize performance.

4.1 Power-Saving Routine

📌 Set your phone to turn on power-saving mode at 30% battery and turn it off when it charges above 30%.

✅ Why?

• Prevents your phone from draining too fast.
• Saves battery without always keeping power-saving mode on.

4.2 Flight Mode While Sleeping (If you have a good WiFi connection at home)

📌 Set your phone to turn on Flight Mode using samsung routines and enable WiFi during sleep hours. This works well if you have WiFi calling enabled.

✅ Why?

• Mobile data drains battery more than WiFi.
• You still receive calls, SMS, and app notifications.
• Helps extend battery lifespan by reducing unnecessary background activity.

⚠ Pro Tip: Set your routine to turn mobile data back on 30 minutes before waking up so everything is ready when you start your day.

4.3 Limit Charging to 80% for Better Battery Life

📌 Use Routines to stop charging at 80% and resume before your wake-up time to reach 100%.

✅ Why?

• Charging to 100% all the time puts stress on the battery.
• Helps the battery last longer over the years.

🔋 Best Practice: If possible, charge in longer cycles (one full charge per day or even longer if your usage allows it) instead of constantly topping up. This reduces wear on the battery.

Step 5: Adjust Brightness to Avoid Screen Issues

📌 Turn off auto-brightness and manually set it to around 30%.

✅ Why?

• Prevents green or pink lines from appearing over time (common Samsung OLED issue).
• Reduces battery drain.

Step 6: Manage Background Apps to Improve Performance

📌 Go to Settings → Battery & Device Care → Battery → Background Usage Limits and put less-used apps into Deep Sleep.

✅ Why?

• Prevents unnecessary apps from running in the background.
• Saves battery and keeps the phone running fast.

⚠ Only keep essential apps active, such as:
✔ WhatsApp
✔ Email
✔ Browser
✔ Banking apps

Put apps you rarely use (like telco apps or shopping apps) into Deep Sleep.

Step 7: Use Wireless Charging for Battery Health

📌 Switch to wireless charging with a MagSafe case or ring.

✅ Why?

• Slower charging = longer battery life (fast charging generates more heat and wears out the battery faster).
• Wireless charging is more gentle on the battery.

⚠ Pro Tip: Set up a smart plug to start charging at 3 AM, stop at 5 AM, then resume from 7 AM to 7:30 AM to reach 100%. This prevents the phone from staying at 100% for too long.

What to Avoid to Keep Your Phone Healthy

❌ Don’t charge your phone while using it heavily.
This includes:

• Using GPS navigation in the car while charging.
• Gaming or streaming while charging.

✅ Why?

• Overheating damages battery health.
• The battery drains faster when charged under heavy usage.

Final Thoughts

Following these steps will help keep your Samsung phone running smoothly for years, extend battery life, and reduce performance slowdowns over time. A well-maintained phone can easily last 5+ years without major issues!

For best battery longevity, charge your phone less frequently but in full cycles (ideally once a day or longer, depending on usage).

Yeah looks like pre order logistics/arrangement sucks this time.
*
2025 wise people don’t buy pre order anymore. My last pre order was samsung s7 plus . Also kelam kabut they mix up people order, long queue and people cut queue.

Buy on lazy and Shopee cheaper, quick, reach door step . I remember I queue at machines for nearly 1 hour to just buy a iPhone 15 pro max . No free gift no discount, some more pay first only can touch your phone. While samsung store nobody

Especially s24u to S25u not much improvement

Samsung marketing done wrong should like who pre order get special price so who miss it regret but this is not pre order with overpriced value then price slow drop and drop and drop onl

QUOTE(ProX @ Mar 1 2025, 03:01 PM)
I ordered the same S25U jetblack.  Someone from Samsung called me to let me know my unit is scheduled to be delivered on 30 Mar 25. I ordered on 12 Feb 25. Told them to cancel and they mentioned cannot. They wanted to get me to change to other color but at the end I just said the reason I m ordering online is for the exclusive color.  I insisted that if they cannot fulfil the order then might as well cancel mine. Payment is made in full instead of deposit so make no sense that they order can only fulfilment the order in 1.5months. They said they didn't expect overwhelming order and I said they can allocate mine for someone else. Better for them since they are struggling to fulfil order quick enough.

They called me again yesterday and mentioned my request to cancel has been approved. Confirming whether I really want to cancel and I asked them whether delivery still stick to 30 Mar. They answered yes and I told them to go ahead and cancel.

Been using Samsung for over 10years and I guess it's time for me to explore other brand.
*
Experience users don’t pre order from launch only newbie does. Even iPhone now you can get a lot discount after 2 to 3months.

Because the money you saved you can spend on other accessories or even to get samsung pay instead you donate to samsung earn more profit

Yup..they thought they're in US market with little options
*
You are right they thought Asia is like US

Other brands already nearly catch up like azhar said

Xiaomi – Leica (e.g., Xiaomi 13 Ultra, 12S Ultra)
Vivo – Zeiss (e.g., Vivo X100 Ultra)
Sony – Zeiss (e.g., Xperia series)
OnePlus – Hasselblad (e.g., OnePlus 12, OnePlus 11)
OPPO – Hasselblad (e.g., OPPO Find X7 Ultra)
Huawei – Previously Leica (before Xiaomi took over the partnership)

Samsung best camera now start to be shaken already

If they don’t start to innovate there goes

For those just get your device, when is the warranty due date? Follow order date or pickup?

I get my phone on 22-2-2025, my warranty start on order date 24-1-2025 . Chat with Samsung they ask me to send email to dispute myself with their warranty team....WTF!!!!
*
From my experience usually warranty activate before sent out so if delivery delay so is the date. Safest walk in to buy guarantee warranty follow buying date

Just sharing that I finally got around to trading-in my old phone with CompAsia after finally transferring all my stuff into the S25U. I was pleasantly surprised that the whole process was quite simple and smooth. Now just waiting for money to be credited into my account.

The only thing to note was that I lost RM150+ trade-in value because the old phone had some minor scratches on the screen (phone fell face-first once and I didn't use a screen protector at the time). Let this be a lesson to all. On my end, straight away ordered a TG screen protector after I left CompAsia tongue.gif

I got my S25+ through a Maxis package, purchasing the device for RM2,999 with a 24-month contract at RM109 per month for an unlimited plan. It’s worth it since I was already using the same plan.

user posted image
*
I check currently price is rm3,849 retail price + prepaid RM30 = RM4,569
Offer maxis price RM2,999 + plan 109 x24 +6% tax = 2,772.96. = Phone + plan = RM5771.96

The next question how much data do you use? if like 10gb-30gb then not worth

Becoz Tim Team Apple is weak in Zoom and Super-Macro modes. Later Tim Team Apple ranking will be below Top 10.

Now that Automatic Idiot AI is part of image processing features, the ranking should also include post-processing scores. DJ Koh's Automatic Idiot AI on image editing is far superior than Tim Team Apple...

The DXO include Automatic Idiot AI scores, all top five will be DJ Koh and Pixel series...

yes before this SIRI was good, after become AI intelligence the AI is more stupid. Sometimes searching for this stuff it will ask me whether I want to use chatgpt and most of the it doesn't understand me after update. I use voice command with mi home to control my entire house lighting after update the command I always use become turn on the camera flash light or adjust my screen brightness.

YEs the AI photo also sux most of the time after erase something there some left over in the image.

i've been using Pitaka cases for many years, never had an issue. its ok to be a pessimist, if that makes you feel better about yourself smile.gif

and a phone is just a phone at the end of the day. not why you feel so emotionally attached to material things; cry because of a dent / scuff.
*
Exactly he need to cry of dent and other damage with the right protection there no dent or damage to cry. When I remove my casing my device looks brand new like perfection.

It’s hard earn money not donation. That how I have a lot of good things in pristine condition

Forgot which setting that I changed.
At 15%, my phone just send low battery notification.
But at 5% only dim display brightness.
Not sure why the time does not add up but it is what it is.
I did not do any editing.
Yea, use that to kill some of my boring time.

Why not you share what you do in the 14 hours because screenshot about 8hours justified but other 8 hours missing

Btw if you full day wifi usually is achievable what bot achievable is mobile data full day

I do agreed that the numbers seems does not added up quite well.

Yea, the two screenshots majority of the time are on WiFi.
I will report again when I am on data most of the time.

Try experiment full day mobile data/ no WiFi if you also achieve that hours then it’s jaw dropping. If WiFi usually achievable in low power mode and minimum settings

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Mar 14 2025, 10:49 AM)
Dex for PC isn't the same as Dex on the phone when connecting to monitors etc though? How do you use Dex for PC?

Related link - https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-de...t-ends-3504306/
*
I also confused what you guys are saying? Let me clarify does they mean this? so means the discontinue is a window inside windows PC running dex. if that gonna go yes it should since Microsoft phone works the same

There are 3 different things mentioned here:

Samsung DeX - (this isn't mentioned, but this is the "real deal") the phone becomes the computer with an external monitor, Android apps run on the phone, but in a desktop fashion;

Samsung DeX for Windows - a windows app, that is run on a windows machine, that (via USB2.0) connects to a DeX capable phone, and opens up and shows Samsung DeX in a window on the computer. This means, that there is a significant lag (because the external monitor of the phone is a windows software), but it allows a windows user to use the phone on the windows desktop.

Microsoft Phone Link - mix of an android app and a windows app, that work together and you can use the phone's messaging/audio/video capabilities via the windows computer, even show the (non-DeX) screen of your phone. - I suppose, this works with Samsung phones without DeX, as well (like the A-series), and even wireless links are possible here.
