The problem is the Singaporean didn't see properly whether it is lease or freehold before buying?

Even Singapore's HDB flats are not leasehold or freehold, no strata title.

Developer may have learned something from Singapore gov.

This doesn’t sound like leasehold

Oh it fits leasehold technical description, just that it is not leasehold to gomen, but to developer.

This developer playing with fire, being the first case means it will likely be brought to court and fight there, become a landmark case.

Let's hope the decision will be to buyer benefit.

Imagine how much they could charge and suck out of management fund as there is no strata. All managed and owned by developer.

Bro, this is not the typical 99yrs leasehold we used to, this private leasehold is even worse than the typical leasehold. They don’t even get to vote for property management, they are just like tenants.

The developer still the actual owner, if developer one day pokai the creditors will come grab the property from the tenants. doh.gif

Leasehold you don’t own the land but you own the building. This case you don’t own the building.

Leasehold to government the land owned by government but building owned by owner. This case the building not owned by owner. It is different.
