If BEV, I would prefer BYD dolphin mini or Seagull anytime. Let's see the offering from Perodua, it will beat Proton flat in term of sales volume.

If MG3 Hybrid 2025 comes in below 100K, can also be alternative to this Kicks

Emas 7 is using the same platform as Smart#1 170k and Volvo EX30.

So 105k to get emas 7 is a good bargain if you ask me

The reality of mg3 hybrid at thailand is, its a car price at rm70k-80k (unless i do maths wrong) , its like a myvi but with hybrid.

Car length is around yaris , but shorter than city hb, if after tax price at 100k might as well get city ehev.. on safety and tech site still city win, unless we want to talk bout 360cam lol

The new mg zs hybrid is direct competitor to yaris cross and kicks tho

*Typo, mg zs

Nah, the RM105k version can hardly do 350km for such a big body car, clumsy in city. For BEV with range 300-350km best with small body like BYD seagull.

For long distance I have my turbo diesel already. So for city drive, I thought Kicks is just ngam ngam.

As an engineer, this system's bottleneck is at the battery. If the battery is not big enough, the motor cannot get more juice as the engine is charging it at the same time to keep it from depleting So, the engine charging rate must be more or faster than the motor is consuming. Hence, you hear the engine so loud in any of the test drive video. Else I think the interior is very good. Of course outside is quite ugly.

The quoted 350km is a realistic number compared to other brands bloated quoted number

The response for Kicks is quite good, Nissan is extending the RM5000 offer for another 500 units !

If good, usually no more discount.
They are desperate for sales now as 2024 year local TCM really in bad financial year.
Add on Nissan going to broke & merger with Honda/Mitsubishi this might put on hold for some potential owners.

Could be.

Just went and saw the car 2 hours ago. It looks okish to me, but wife not so impressed. Storage space is a bit too little upfront, and no rear air-cond vents.

Emm... looks like better to wait for Perodua Nexis or their 1st EV or BYD to bring in the Seagull (my ideal EV, in term of size and overall packaging, hopefully price too).

Are there any Nissan Kicks owners yet? It's still quite rare to spot one on the roads although I did see one or two earlier last week on MEX and SUKE highway.

Just to update that I noticed the Impul aerokit package for Nissan Kicks is now available for purchase as below, priced at RM5k. This package does not appeal to me though.

There's also the optional 18" Impul alloy wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres at RM3.5k as below. This option looks rather good to me.

Lastly, there's the Active package priced at RM8.5k. This one looks rather similar to the previous Black edition Kuro package offered for the Nissan Almera. Best to wait and see if Tan Chong will give this Active package for the Kicks as free in the near future, as what they did to the ALmera. biggrin.gif

Lastly, some accessories such as carpet mat and leather seats. Black leather seats with blue stitching is now offered as an option for the VL, whereas black nappa leather is offered for the VLT. Personally these 2 options are quite necessary and mandatory to me, as the current 2-tone brown and black leather in the VLT looks horrendous and may be one of the causes for the low sales.

so far only saw 2 instances of Kicks

the first one on tiktok is owner baru get car then kena accident very kesian

the other one on the road.

still not many kicks owners around i think, not too popular. that pricepoint target audience i think alot jump to WRV instead. shame because it's quite an interesting car.

Yes, it's still rare on the roads. Similarly the Kicks is an interesting car and it appeals to me the most in comparison to other SUV options currently in the market for my preferences and requirements. The unpopularity doesn't bother me, as low sales may further drive Tan Chong to give discounts and rebates for the Kicks, good for potential buyers. The Kicks is CBU from Thailand so quality in terms of assembly is rather assured, chances of hearing rattling parts inside the car would be minimised. So far reviews mentioned on the impressive or excellent NVH of the vehicle which caught people by surprise. Honda vehicles are not in consideration for me although the design may be good, mainly due to low quality in assembly, noisy interior/poor NVH. People can choose whatever they like though and it's good to have choices.
