im using this mobo
https://www.aorus.com/en-my/motherboards/GA...0/Specification

using this ram
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/memory/cmr1...16gx4m2c3200c16

and AMD Ryzen 7 2700x

I feel very laggy from multitasking 3 browsers. memory usage about 90%+ all the time, cpu usage 50-80%

how much more ram should I get as I've alot of tabs in 3 browsers?
should I get back same model ram? or should I replace it with something different?

I just want my browsers to run smoothly, thought of adding more ram or better ram if it could help more.

R7 2700x max supported ram is 64GB.
as state above, add in another 2x16GB for a total of 48GB RAM.

your processor and motherboard may not support more than 64GB ram.
else, i also want to suggest 2 x 32GB 3200MHz.

does 48gb affect instability, i've never heard of 48gb ram, mostly 16gb, 32gb or 64gb

you already have 2 nos of 8GB = 16GB
add in another 2 nos of 16GB = 16 + 32 = 48GB total.
just check back on memory EXPO so that it run at 3200MHz.
when using 4 slot, RAM may be downclock to 2666MHZ or lower.

CPU Temp 85c for AMD hit the limit? Not thermal throttling?

Edit: Just did a google, i think you're thermal throttling than requiring more RAM. Get a cleanup done, reapply thermal paste, if the temps still show 80-85 you should change the CPU cooler instead.

Edit 2: From your screenshot doesn't look like you're gaming while you took it, and yet, your CPU temps is still 80+ at 60W. Your HDD seems to indicate 90+% usage, you doing torrenting alot?

the more ram is better no?
its just that people usually using the same DIMM size for all slot (4x4 4x8 4x16 4x32), thus the no is 16 32 64 128 for dual channel mobo.
you can mix dif size of DIMM (8 16 8 16), but mobo will follow the slower DIMM clock.

if you using the same brand and clock speed, it should be ok.

p/s: last time im using (4 2 4 2 4 2) for a total of 18GB in triple channel mobo.

Just google your CPU Ryzen 7 2700x maximum operating temp is 85c only. You're already at 82c with it occasionally hitting 85c indicated with a RED marker in the hardwareinfo.
Highly recommend cleaning it up rather than adding RAM. Plus check out what's going on with your disk, why is it 90% activity on idle (unless you're torrenting).

Lol feel like real life PC building simulator scenario
