later that day only i noticed that the auto ticket machine do have english translation laugh.gif

One thing i don't get is, why travel outside of your home country and expect the country you're visiting to be similar back home?

We have never really have a tourist friendly culture.

Our superiority complex permeates all levels due to our R&R politics influencing society. How to be tourist friendly with such attitude.

The only tourist we angkat is Mat Salleh, even beg-packer we angkat. The colonial superiority is deeply ingrained even after 60+ years of independence.

“They look down on you if you don’t speak the same language,” the tourist remarked.
- No full context hard to judge. But they probably fell into false expectations when a lot of these tourism-friendly soc med posts promoted msia as Chinese friendly country where lots of people can speak Chinese.
Look down? maybe. Disgusts? mostly likely, since the peninsular has a lot of politically induced sinophobia phenomena.

"The tourist said that in the entirety of Kuala Lumpur city, the only place that is worth visiting is KLCC – a place he dubbed good for taking pictures."
- True to 99% of people, False statement to politicians since they need to justify their contract awards to contractors beautifying the city. E.g. River of life is just another big longkang for most of us.

“Honestly, the prices of goods here are almost the same as back in China.”
- True

“The takeaway food, the transport, nothing is great here!”
- True

“There are no pavements for pedestrians to walk on. Driving is the best way to travel. The public transportation here is so inconvenient!”
-True

The hotels in the city also did not live up to his expectations, especially when he had to pay extra for checking out 10 minutes late.
-True

Last but not least, the man also expressed dissatisfaction with the takeaway food here, particularly with the portions and the way food is packed.
“The takeaway cost me around RMB150 (approximately RM91). Not only is the portion lesser but they packed the food in a plastic bag. I didn’t get my utensils, even after requesting for it.”
-Expensive but subpar takeaway without utensils? Doubts

At the end of his post, the tourist told others not to fall for the good reviews online and said that other than shopping, there is nothing else to do in Malaysia.
-KL true. Msia no. Sabah is good, Penang is good, Peninsular east coast beach used to be good

Penang overrated. Please don't come. Try Ipoh or Melaka. Sabah, Sarawak also good.

Since when comments from social media is legit? So easy to blow anything out of proportion

One user unhappy about Japan for example... Media will write all of Japan is badd based on 1 or 2 comment.

Anyway... World of buzz is known to practice gutter journalism and ktards just eat it all up

PETALING JAYA, June 26 — World of Buzz has been making the news for all the wrong reasons recently, with several allegations regarding workplace practices levelled at them by former employees of the social news website. First, articles from WOB were banned from the Malaysia subreddit after moderators found the site conducting "dodgy stuff” on the subreddit — including planting articles and creating fake accounts to "push positive opinions”.

Meanwhile, an account claiming to be owned by the former Content Lead and Writer for World of Buzz replied to the original announcement post, criticising the company for its "unethical” tactics. A response to his post by an account claiming to be from Michelle Tan, one of WOB’s co-founders, argued that he was trying to "spread fake rumours”.

Both posts’ criticism centre around the allegedly unethical journalistic practises of WOB — referring to the platform’s content as "copypasta” and "clickbait-worthy”. Workplace culture was also criticised by the posts, while the lack of legitimate sourcing for "news” articles was highlighted as well.

Some of it is true though, no need to depend on World of Buzz. Public transport and pedestrian walkways just look at Sinjiapor.

Some of it maybe unfair, Takeaway usually will provide utensils when requested, late checkout (10 minutes lol, this one maybe bs) also usually ok as long as you inform them in advance.

Who read WOB for authentic news stories?

Like I say, they just repost a lot of things which were posted on social media

It's up to individual to believe it or not and in this case, do you think the China tourist did not post what was revealed by WOB?
