Question, how should I deal with papa bank accounts? He had left a will and me and my sis are the designated successor of his assets including bank account..How should I execute it?

The will should name an executioner, a proper will that is.

If you are the executioner, then you need to go to the bank with the required documents. Banks would want your bank account if named nominee. (No joint account)

Go High Court and get the Grant of Probate.

if joint name account, go transfer/withdraw everything first, dont report to bank and JPN yet.

My Dad pass away this Jan.

If you papa account got ATM card.....change the limit and if you know the password.
Withdraw everything unless your papa got hundred of thousand.
But do it before reporting to JPN to get his death certificate.
If not, follow other sifu here to proceed on your Dad bank account.

Go to your local Adun where your Dad stay to apply for "funeral expenses"......RM500
It will take about 1 month after "verification call" from the local party.
In my case, DAP.

If your Dad got BR1M assistance from Government, then proceed to nearest BSN to apply for "funeral expenses".
Bring all necessary document to bank and just get que number and go over the counter for application.
On spot you will get cash RM1,000.

And if your Dad is pensioner, go to CyberJaya KWAP office and bring documentation for "funeral expenses"
Apply on spot over the counter.
Money RM3,000 will be remitted into your bank account within 1 month but usually 2 week.

He has heart sickness and done Stent before on 3 locations. Then recently he told his friend (didn't tell us family) that he felt some heart rate irregularities and discomfort but dismissed it, as he got check up coming up on next 2 weeks and December, but still...

My mum passed away on CNY night, she was so happy awaiting for her first grandchild. And, my MIL passed away a day before my child arrival. So, it was a double blow to my family.

Anyway, my mum left a will for us. Just need to find a lawyer to execute. My mum did her will with rockwill, hence we asked them to execute. However, it has been almost 10 months and they have yet to get back to us. If u know his ATM password just withdraw asap. For those FD, etc. You have to go through will.
