Just realised that tomorrow is a public holiday in Selangor. Probably no custom clearance.

QUOTE(jonthebaptist @ Dec 11 2024, 06:55 AM) For me no, it needs to come to my local hub first then only it will start "out for delivery". Example: PJ > my local hub > then only out for delivery I have the same update message and I am in Penang. Does it mean that this batch has already gone through customs clearance? And then there's the issue of public holiday, we don't know if they will be any movement today or not. So I think you're safe |

QUOTE(ohkeat @ Dec 11 2024, 08:21 PM) I gave up hope already. Unlikely they will be able to deliver today, even though in the system it shows out for delivery. This has never happened to any other courier companies I have used before. Will avoid GDex at all cost in future. All my previous online Apple purchases, they used DHL, probably because they were shipped from ShenZhen China. Same here. Previous purchases from Apple website, no issues at all. Always arrive on time if not earlier. Never this late in the day. The status is still out for delivery but don't tell me they will deliver at 10 pm?? |

QUOTE(jonthebaptist @ Dec 12 2024, 11:20 AM) In all honesty who knew there was holiday yesterday. Plus we all thought impossible to out of delivery so fast. Finally delivered........My family thought he had made a mistake as it is so small. They cannot believe it is the entire pc I suspect they already had the stock in warehouse nearby, the tracking was merely for show. When shopping for cables to connect the mini to a monitor, what are the specs I should be watching out for?
I bought this and it flat out doesn't work. https://shopee.com.my/20Gbps-USB-3.2-Gen-2-...862.14783595574 This post has been edited by hellfried: Dec 12 2024, 08:25 PM |

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Dec 12 2024, 08:50 PM) I thought connect to monitor need to find HDMI to USB c. not USB c to USB c. unless your monitor is plug via USB c According to this video avoiding HDMI port is the way to go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZwP_j0Y4x4&t=403s This post has been edited by hellfried: Dec 13 2024, 04:44 AM |

QUOTE(muman7 @ Dec 13 2024, 10:10 AM) I'm using 27" 2k monitor, don't trust the "must use 4k at least" or HiDPI myth online. I'm not seeing any blur text on 2K without using betterdisplay, I have another same specs (albeit lower end) monitor connects to windows 11 side by side and I can't see any different between the two. Maybe I don't have sharp eye. What does betterdisplay bring to the table? |

QUOTE(kelvin88 @ Dec 14 2024, 05:06 PM) Wanna ask a question on the initial setup of mac mini. It detected my Magic mouse and magic keyboard immediately, probably because they are apple products. For other brands you may have to connect via wires. If you have bluetooth devices, press the power button 3 times for pairing. When you first turn on the mac mini for setup, will it be able to detect BT keyboard/mouse or even your Magic mouse? Or need to use wired input devices / wireless adapter for first time setup? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6OOUYL_IoM This post has been edited by hellfried: Dec 14 2024, 05:28 PM |

QUOTE(Cynox @ Dec 18 2024, 12:16 PM) finally got my custom Mac Mini shipped from ShenZhen China, stranded in DHL KL warehouse for 1 whole day. I am using a brand new 4K Samsung M7 32" smart monitor with my mini. Was a bit disappointed with the default scaling that made the text huge and slightly fuzzy. I have been tinkering with the free version of the Betterdisplay app, and today I am finally satisfied with the setting. In fact I am so satisfied that I actually paid for the pro version. Something that others may consider playing around with if they are unhappy with their monitors.Set it up in office and actually using it to post this now. Just want to say the text is quite crisp at default resolution with my 34" 1440p ultrawide Dell office monitor. Those HDPI requirement is really just marketing gimmick. One thing I noticed though, since I am not using the MacOS default scaling, the CPU is warmer than when I am using the default setting. More CPU workload I am guessing. At the end of the day, is it as good as the Apple display? Of course not. That would be an unrealistic comparison seeing the price difference. QUOTE(shyan90's @ Dec 19 2024, 10:43 AM) Hold it 1st. I saw someone complaint after using this dock the WIFI drop alot. Maybe due to material too thick hence block the wifi signal. If you use cable then just go for it. I have several devices connected to Wifi from the router but my main rig ie the Mac mini is connected straight to ethernet port on the router. Will this be an issue with the other devices? |
