I have a question, about the auto focus,
let say wanto capture few person's photo, but the focus point only 1-point, then wat to do? which mode are most suitable for multi- people capture?

which panasonic model has face detection? or no face detection for panasonic?as i know, canon and kodak got it.

I have bought 2 units of batteries for the TZ15 on 2 separate occasions at Changi Terminal 2 Tax Free shop. It cost SGD25 and the brand is i-Discovery. It is a Li-ion battery with 1150mAh capacity and compatible with the original S007E used by the TZ15. First unit used over a year already, no problem. Got another one recently.

all brand has face detection and all brand need to select another option which is to select face detection option.

If u use fast focus 1 point...cannot use face detection

face detection is under IA mode or option face detection mode

see below how it works



lx3 face detection is under IA mode or option face detection mode that can focus more than 10 face.

Lx3 also has face detection capturing mode and af tracking mode. it means that the face moving..the focus will chase the face as well....

Basically..all brand has face detection mode.

panasonic fx38 has all this even flash burst rate 3 times.

for me...all brand face detection is jz marketting gimmick...useless wan..

let say face detection detected 5 faces, then it will focus on that 5 places or one of five?

focus on the 5 face if detect 5 faces...

panasonic lx3 can focus 15 faces in their advert brouchure.

but in reality none of any camera is so high tech

it depends on lighting..angle...face....if the human face cacat..sure cannot detect...


if face detection is so good..why dun those high end dslr implement it?

dslr normally got it i think.

compact camera normally less than 1k is good enough, if more than 1k then better get dslr, this is wat i think.

i just think that they produce camera with focus, but most of it only 1 point focus for lower price camera, but that only can use for some situation, let say a human picture more than 1 person, 1 point is useless. they sholud know this , but they stil make 1 point focus thingy, make more models, make more prices, more strategy, more market, more money.

even tho LX3 more than 1K, but it really worth for its price...
u guys go to shop and try then u will find the answer, there a huge different on F2.0 stop with F2.8(normal compact camera), it looks brighter...

The LX3 has multiple face detection that is for sure.
And as a user, my experience is that the face detection is spot on in most occasions. But of course, not perfect.
If you had a row of 5 frens standing in front of u waiting for their photo to be taken, all 5 frens will have their faces recognized and each will have their individual focus boxes.

And the point about having "35" face detection points is, to me, quite useless & pointless. Ask yourself how many photos have u taken that actually has 35 faces in them?

the old type camera back to 19XX years don hav face detection, but stil able to take clear pictures.

yes indeed is true...film type camera...still very clear..but need to process out
