basically, the lift just opened at your floor, there are no other units to your floor. Let's say your unit faces the west.

Like someone said above, there's a mini corridor between the lift and your unit door. You can put all your stuff at the mini corridor. No one else can access to your corridor.

Another unit at the same floor access to a different lift. Let's say another unit faces the east. So this lift faces the east, whereas your private lift faces the west.

But your 'private lift' will also go to a different floor for other units, facing the same west side.
