Hi all,

So sorry didn't reply much recently.

For PS3, I went to Mario at the Bukit Jambule Complex Ground Floor and the price is as per below:
1) RM799 for Sony Refurbished Set - Phat and 40GB with controller (can be DS3 or Sixaxis)
2) RM1099 for new set - 160GB

I also saw that Game Galaxy showing the USB-mod / homebrew kit in BJ Complex.

I also asked for Wii upgrade, and it will cost ~RM10 - 50, depends on the Wii condition.

I went to perangin to survey jus now.. based on ur budget n my survey (bout 4 shops i visited), u can go to:

1) Ace Electronic(same floor with Oasis Restaurant) - Full accessories (with 8GB) RM700 (white,black,silver)
2) Game Art (third floor) - Full accessories (forgotten bout the memory card storage,8GB if not mistaken) RM800

Another shop(which i forgotten the name) offer me RM900,dunno y there is rm200 different there.. haha.. For the remaining of the question, i dunno.. Haha..
*
Base on the price ACE price is really good.

On checking whether the Console is new of use, there are a few ways, but all these are just external checking that could give you a red flag.

1) Usually shops will not mod it until you decided to buy the PSP. Before then, you can look at the packaging, the box, the info when you turn on PSP (the firmware version, battery etc etc)

2) Check for dust and particles on the analog button. This always give you a hint.

3) Scratches at the back.

4) Check whether the box carries the same thing as indicated - color of the PSP, charger, USB etc.

Hi people, just wondering is it still possible to get new psp 2k in PG? Whats the pricing like.
*
I just came back from Marionet. They are selling PSP2006 for RM900++. Not really worth it to buy.

For PSP3000, the price is RM799 with latest spec.
For PSP Go, the price is RM699 with latest spec.

All the price quoted from Marionet, BJ Complex.

Hello, I'm new to the forum.. Wanted to ask if there is any shops loading newly released games like Persona 3 Portable and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd in Penang? Any helps will be greatly appreciated..
*
You want original disk for both? It will cost you an arm and a leg, even if you managed to find it in Penang.

I think Pbbseller in LYN is selling both these games in the PSP thread.

Hi again, may I know which shop in Penang sells the CHEAPEST PS2 Slim? Played some games on PS3 and thought they are rather good, so wanna try out their PS2 "predecessors" laugh.gif
*
The price tag in Marionet for a PS2 Slim is RM399 modded. With that price, I don't think you will be able to get extra controlers + items.

G Electronics are selling it for ~RM450, with extra controllers and stuffs.

Hello, anyone here can recommend shop to repair PS3 ylod?
*
I went to Marionet to update my Wii previously.

Though the update is a cheapo update, it still do the works.

You can call up and ask. All the phone numbers are on the first page smile.gif I also saw that the uncle inside there are knowledgeable on PS3 stuff.

hello, may i ask for any shop that repair & replace PSP1000 analog stick services is good and cheap ?
and also PSP100 5V battery charger cheaper/standard price
(P/S : i dont know the price, to prevent cheat by others...i have to ask you guys opinion ^^)
*
Playasia is a very good reference place for price for batteries and chargers. However, I did tried to locate the charger previously and I gotta tell you, most of the shop here either selling 3rd party one (which is seriously not recommended) or the price is sky high.

My PSP is the PSP-2000 (Slim & Lite) version. Last time when I am locating a charger, ACE show me an OEM US Version charger with adapter for RM60. I am not a big fan of something that is not 100% compatible with our connector here, hence I get the 3rd party one. It fried on me one week after it is used. I had been using the external charger (the one that you had to physically remove the battery from PSP) I bought in Playasia since then. I also get a voltage adapter just to play safe. Malaysia power voltage is quite high.

Link for the charger as per below
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-bg-49-en-70-2x2u.html

For the analog replacement, any shops with decent repair skills can have this done quite fast, unless the analog fault is caused by some other issue, like board problem.

Been interested in the best price and best service for PS3 as well in Penang. Been very interested to buy one but not sure where to get one in Penang. >.< Haha, should have get it while I was in KL 2 weeks ago...

The last shop I visit - Marionet in Bukit Jambul, are selling quite a few options. Personally I feel that the RM1099 320GB option is not bad. It might have price drop again since I last visit.

For me, it really depends.

If you want to have it modded, you can go for the gaming shops around Bukit Jambul or Prangin Mall.

If you are buying original games, I would suggest you go to Sony Center. At least they are giving 15 months warranty. Games and extra controller you can buy online.

This is just a discussion for gaming shops in Penang boss. biggrin.gif

If you need to ask for price, the contact number in the first page should help.

You can also PM GCTOY for further info.

Or, there are quite a few person here selling those. I bought mine from one of them.

how much psp is selling in penang right now?
i read the news that new psp is coming out and the current psp already drop to USD129 which is around RM400
is it true?
wanna get one if it is so cheap now
*
I seriously doubt it will drop until RM400 for the forseeable future.

Yes, NGP is scheduled to come out by year end, but for now, it still hasn't indicate whether it will be backward compatible for PSP games.

There is also a case of what you can do with the PSP. I am sure you know that since PSP-3000 and PSP-Go comes out, PSP-2000 did not have price drop. In fact, they price increase due to its flexibility on modification and homebrewness. It also helps that PSP-Go is basically half a flop.

it did drop from USD170 to USD130 in US

but too bad in US only lar... here the shop still sell at the same price...
*
Yup, I suppose it is just basically for the PSP, right?

Here, people usually sell in a package. Unless you are willing to pay extra for UMD, people usually homebrew it, and it takes some extra charges to have it done + a big storage Memory stick to make the PSP usable smile.gif.

I think RM700 - 800 now would get you a PSP Package deal in Penang.

which shop in BJ Complex have a reasonable price ?
gonna get a 320gb PS3 next week
*
I personally saw that Marionet got a lot of options + relative OK price on Marionet.

RM10xx for 320GB slim version vs. RM1020 for the same in KL.
RM750 for the fat version (usually 80GB) vs RM700 for the same in KL.

I also saw my friend bought PS3 in Game Galaxy. However, according to some thread posted by fellow forumers here previously, they did inadvertedly sold a fake non-Sony authorized controller to the customer and it end up not working. So, be on the lookout for that if you are dealing with them.

I do not have much info on Gametech yet. Anybody here can help?

For games, I think it's best for you to get from the seller in LYN. The price in the Penang shops are not so good.

where do you think shops in penang that sell unmodded xbox360 slim 4gb arcade which cost
around rm850-900? if in kl there lots of shop that sell at this price.

thanks.

The only shops I saw unmodded xbox (phat jasper version) is Gametech and G Electronics. You can go take a look.

Be warned, they might not drop the price, as these Xboxes are bought in a high cost price.

Why would you go for pirated if you have the budget for original?
Anyway I found out today that Godspeed in Prangin Mall 3rd floor is actually a LYN seller as well(IlikePanadol), his price is very competitve to some of the popular LYN sellers as well, so you can actuially try to ask from him.

Plus GOW1 and 2 is available as PSN game. it will be cheaper to do sharing. if budget is of you concern..

Yup - Terry.

So, no need introduction here haha.

First.. This is not PS3 thread.. Read the title.
Second .. PS3 got the better graphic than xbox but controller are suxx.. Xbox is better in that term.
3rd .. You want the ahem console or the "oh yeah, my pocket burn a lot because of the games." console..
If ahem console, look for ACE ELECTRONIC which in 3rd floor of Prangin Mall. Ori , look for GAMEMASTER or GAMEMONSTER.
4th .. PS3 games not much too choose from even the exclusive title is still lose to Xbox..

Simply i get Xbox because of Gears Of Wars series which PS3 dont have..

Added on November 11, 2011, 1:49 pm

Well, i brought PS3 early this year and get YLOD...How do you explain that? Typical Asian only go for Sony product.. Like penang people mind is already brainwash by Sony...
In Penang most of the game shop selling original PS3 games but dont have original Xbox 360 games... Sometimes i go to KL to get the original Xbox 360 games.
Seriously, you dont see selection of Xbox 360 original games in Penang..
*
It's all about choice isn't it? New generation consoles are considerably fragile than the previous generation console. Take the old phat PS2, which probably won't have many issues if it you throw a brick directly to it. Kudos to Microsoft for making the Xbox360 slim version more rugged.

Out of the few games I own for PS3, I think I only get two of them from Penang sellers, and non from Penang gaming shops. Penang people is famous for one thing - kedekut/salty/咸/Careful with money/stingy. So, for heavy gamer, if there are "better" options, they will go for it, and that is why Xbox360 original games are few and far between here in Penang. I stick to original games for PS3 because I already seriously don't have time to play all the games I had now. If I use another option, I'd probably out of a job now.

I had used a lot of controllers, and I agree that if a lot of games can be played very well (and efficiently) using Xbox controller. However, do bear in mind, Playstation Dualshock is on offer since PS1 is here. When it was released, it is close to be a revolutionary controller and a lot of 3rd party controllers are base on the design until now. I will definitely not use the "sux" word on Dualshock, not in a million years.

Exclusive games are nice. But it is all about the money from the game company. Why you want to earn money from only 50 mil people while you have the chance to earn money from 100 mil people with a little bit more investment. It is a no brainer. It is not a competition, it is a joy to us as all of us can play the same games in different consoles. Next up - cross platform multiplayer.
