Parents of girl who fell from KL school building speak out

In an interview with Sin Chew Daily, the girl’s parents said their daughter, who was the third child in the family, had a bubbly personality and was deeply loved at home.

They also added that they never placed any pressure on her to perform well academically and gave her time to relax and unwind whenever she returned from school.

However, the only time when they noticed something amiss was when the victim claimed she had seen a ghost at the school’s hostel during the Hungry Ghost Festival.

“When we brought her back home and performed an exorcism on her, we asked her whether she wanted to return there. She said yes and such incidents never happened again,” they said.

‘We don’t know why she did what she did’

Given this, the girl’s parents are understandably distraught over her passing and are trying to come to terms with the tragedy.

They said that they’re not blaming anyone for the tragedy, with the girl’s father adding that perhaps his daughter would still be alive if she was shown more love at home.

  We’re not facing any financial problems nor did we place any undue pressure on her regarding her studies. However, we’re not dismissing the possibility that she may have experienced something else that caused her to take her own life.

“We’ve also accepted the fact that she’s no longer alive and we will spend more time in loving and taking care of our other three children,” they said.

The girl’s parents also asked netizens to respect their daughter by not circulating her photos online.
