15th September 2024 – (Hong Kong) Norman Chui Siu-keung, the celebrated martial arts actor of the 1980s, has passed away at the age of 73. Reports indicate that Chu succumbed to oesophageal cancer earlier this month in Beijing. The news was confirmed by veteran film professional Kai-Man Tin, who expressed his condolences following inquiries from the media.
Chu’s daughter, Erica Chui, shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, posting a message that simply read “love you.”
A prominent figure in Hong Kong’s film industry during the 1970s and 1980s, Chu gained fame for his roles in numerous television dramas before rising to stardom in the 1992 Stephen Chow film King of Beggars. In recent years, he transitioned to online films after appearing in Dream Home.
I think many people don't know this drama series. I think part 1 is nicer than part 2.
Since both the part 1 and part 2 of the TV series Reincarnated and Dragon Strike are on TVBAnywhere. I did try to watch those series a few months earlier. After watch a bit really cannot tahan anymore. I guess back then TV drama and movie was still new, so people could put up with bad dialogue, bad acting and bad special effects. Nowadays even the worst series is probably better than what they tried to do back then.

I have been watching old series on TVBAnywhere too and find the older series in the 80s were actually better. They don’t have flashy special effects or a lot of wire fu but most of them actually have better fighting choreography. The acting, script and dialogues were better too. The biggest cons of old series is the set and costumes which are very low budget compared to series today. A lot of the directors, scriptwriters, etc. from the old ATV and TVB dramas went on to be the backbone of HK film industry. People like Johnny To, Wong Kar Wai, etc. got their start in those early TV series. Heck, even Wong Jing started in those series.
Memang most /k are late 30s to early 40s...medical checkup also become annual basis Liao hahahhahaha

I disagree.
While checkups are not a guaranteed for longer life or able to screen 100%, it does allow to detect certain conditions earlier and thus better chances to take preventive or treatment.
You could argue that how long we live is determined by powers above, bit with advance of medical and early detection, it provides higher living quality and better chances of survival.
Anyways checkups are paid for/tax deductable so no reason to skip.
Was reading about the same news in another website, scroll down to find that this actor also passed in September. Starred a lot in 70s and as villains in Jackie Chan/Sammo Hung movies. Later became prominent in TV drama roles.
