QUOTE(holyghost @ Nov 11 2007, 09:48 AM) yalor yalor ... hun n foo also seem appear very little recently ... babymoli also ... where gone ar? lolz.. Recently busy with my work. Modules hit deadline. QUOTE(yuying1 @ Nov 11 2007, 12:45 PM) Recently i noticed some flees or ticks on my gerbils. Cause when i move them into the carrier tank so that i can change the bedding, i saw some small jumping bugs inside the carrier tank which is small and yellowish. Yup.Sun it would be killed them. Do sun your bedding as well. Then i decided to sun their hay. Does sand bathing help in removing the ticks? Or do i need some medication to remove them? Thanks |

QUOTE(holyghost @ Nov 22 2007, 12:06 AM) just only 5 ... all from foo ... Yea.. Intro needs to be done in slow pace. Cannot rush else you'll regret. After the intro even it is success, please do put him back in the new cage like what you did in the first place. Then wait for another intro. It might takes month to intro him to new clan depends on your boys behavior.Added on November 22, 2007, 12:09 am yup ... he did ... but i can see its because he was nervous ... i washed the tank then put in new bedding then put the new boy in a cage with the rest outside the cage ... that ok? so far i dont see any aggresive behaviour from others lor ... am thinking let them be like that for few days then only take him out for 'true' intro |

BlueHeng, just burn a hole lar. Even you don't want to burn it, the tank can't be used as aquarium anymore coz your tank already calar gila. Lolz.... So better to burn a hole on it instead buying new bottle again and again...

One of my sakais died yesterday. Found him dead in a sleeping style. He was active as usual a day before. Didn't know the reason of death. He's not even a year old.
RIP Bengy.. |

matt_1712, welcome to the gang. You're getting your gerbils from nezu right? If not mistaken, that 2 boys (Sp DEH & Sp Nutmeg) should be yours. Lolz.. Treat them nicely k. They are lovely boys.

QUOTE(abang brother @ Jan 17 2008, 07:19 PM) Guys, I'm gonna buy a pair of same sex gerbils, may i know what type of toys i should give? Should i put beddings very thick? Then, should i give them alot of Alfafa Hay? Btw, can i give them a home like the hamsters? QUOTE(abang brother @ Jan 18 2008, 06:10 AM) If the home is made of non-plastics? Oh ya, can i give it sand bath? About the toys, can put hamster's wheel? You can give toilet paper rolls, mug, jar, & other non-plastic toys for them. If you can give them thick bedding then would be great since gerbils are diggers. As for alfafa, you want or don't want also up to you. But would like to let you know that alfafa can cause the light color gerbils' fur to become yellow. If you don't mind on that, then you can give them.Yes, you can give them sand bath. They like it so much but make sure is sand bath not dust bath. If the sand is too fine can cause respiratory problem to them. As for wheel, at least 8" non-plastic wheel. If too small can injured them. |

QUOTE(Masculine @ Jan 19 2008, 12:49 AM) Noob question... how to give sand bath... do you just leave the sand inside???? saw a lot of colorful sandbath at midvalley pet store... is it suitable for them??? You can put in another tank only for sand bath or if you have container and put inside their tank. As for the color sand, I'm not sure whether it is suitable or not. But if the sand is too fine, please don't give them. It may cause respiratory problem to them.QUOTE(matt_1712 @ Jan 19 2008, 01:12 AM) hey all! i'm a little worried. one of my boy's fur is a little messy. i've already given him a sand bath, but it's still messy like this: Hahahahaha.... Normal to have messy fur. Some gerbils fur can last longer after sand bath but some after while already messy.![]() any idea why? btw, here are 2 pictures of my 2 boys. hope you guys like it! ![]() sp deh - sushi ![]() sp nutmeg - fatty |

QUOTE(abang brother @ Jan 21 2008, 06:18 AM) QUOTE(NeaRDeatH @ Jan 21 2008, 11:33 AM) they really cant stay still..huhuhu...i only use my phone to take pics...wait till i borrow a dgcam from my fren eh.. There's a technique to take gerbils pics. I learned it from Nezu. Due to their curiousity, it's best to let them out to play around for around 20 - 30 minutes before taking their pics. If you find them start getting slow down means camera time.... i'm quite new in gerbil..so noob question...both my gerbil is quite smelly...how to overcome this?? Edited: NeaRDeatH, they are new to your environment. So they will take less than usual. Let them be familiar with the new environment first. Don't worry too much.
