Yes U will need to pay a yearly subscription to be entitled Amex's Membership Reward Points. However, you're automatically enrolled/subscribed to Maybank's TreatPoints Reward Program

2. For every RM1 we spent on AMEX, it will earn us the membership reward point, is it including petrol staton?
Yes we do get points for petrol purchases

3. Is the x2 / x3 / x5 / x10 reward point promotion still applicable now?
I believe it is - except X10 reward promotion point is only valid at Platinum Partners and if I am not mistaken, only meant for Platinum card users

4. Currently Maybank offer 3 year annual fee waived, but I was wondering is there anyone successfully ask them to waived their annual fee payment before?
As I'm new, I'm unable to help with this question

5. What is the major difference between Gold and Personal (Green) card? In term of benefit , etc.
U need to pay the yearly subscription for Personal/Green card. For Gold Card and above, I believe you're automatically enrolled into Amex's Membership Rewards Program. For other benefits, just check out their website

PS: I believe the Amex Membership Program is not applicable for the Platinum Credit Cardholders

I feel a bit 'disappointed' with the kind of privileges I'm getting with my Amex Credit Card. I think I'll just swap to a Charge Card.

I haven't heard from Amex and been bZ so I'll wait for my next bill to come and then argue with them cause they didn't call me to verify. Having said that, I obviously cleared all outstanding amount (minus the Finance Charges) which I told the CS on the phone I will not clear until someone from Amex contacts me about it

I'm not sure about the Turbo Program - damn.. I thought it wasn't applicable for the Credit Card range.. am not spending much on my Amex these days anyways - hosterity drive

Exactly my point... hence the benefit available on the Platinum Credit Card is really not great ! Am going to swap over to the Charge Card instead. I wonder if Amex will automatically offer me the Platinum Charge Card *grins*

Yes dear... will get U a supplementary card.. but mine's expiring soon and I don't intend to renew it - i might, actually just swap over to the Gold Charge Card [if I had RM2450 to pay, I'll use that to subsidise flight to NY!]

I guess the only advantage of the Amex Platinum Credit Card is that it is gives 10x Reward Points as selected outlets but I don't frequent those places enough to give a BIG + to the benefits of the card.

I checked with Amex on the promo but apparently it's based on posting date. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I'll be one of them for month of December

Serious?! Well they didn't tell me that but that certainly doesn't make sense. Well at least I know I made a RM3k swipe on the 1st of the month and there was also a posting made for a transaction I did about 2 days before which exceeded RM3k so I guess I'm still being hopeful an iPod will be delivered to me soon

Check with the CS on your Longine watch. I got my letter of redemption in January - i don't remember which month it was that I hit the RM20k. I haven't had time to go make the collection but will be at KLCC this week so will go get it! It came too late so couldn't use it as Christmas gift *siGh*

Thus far, all the Shell stations I've been has no problem accepting Amex... the problematic stations are the Petronas ones!

I got a letter asking me to go into the store to make a redemption. If I ain't mistaken, there are only like 4 places. Where are U based? Perhaps for those based in KL, they need to go pick up the watch instead of it being couriered?

I wonder if I be able to change for something else.. Damn.. too bad none of the shops for redemption listed are shops I frequent *siGh*

I want that waiver off the Platinum Charge Card too - just to check, did U have to reapply?! Unfortunately, I don't have great "relationship" with MBB - I prefer to keep my mother in my pillowcase/under the bed/in the fridge, etc

Amex didn't give me a waiver on my Amex Platinum Credit Card. I had to pay a whopping RM800 for but since it came with the Shangri-la Prestige Card and a RM2k Longines watch I figured I'll bite it and pay the RM800! *gulp*

Perhaps I could get a waiver on the 2nd year?! I've spent enough in my first couple of months since I been with Amex. Checked my points, have about 354k points to date.

The iPod Nano promotion came as a bonus so I was determined to ensure I was one of the 600 winners !! *grins*

And yup.. I have absolutely no intentions of paying another RM800 for the 2nd year - so I'll just wait till my 1st year is up, redeem all my points and move on to another bank , unless of course Amex offers me a waiver.

I'm still waiting for RockIron to get back to me on the waiver of the Amex Platinum Charge Card I guess I just want that for show! hAHahAHhahAHahA
