@cute_boboi,
From the last few posts, I guess I can say we're the few who's more realistic and go for benefits and privileges, not status

I think people like us have our heads on the right way *smiles*
Yep, RM70 can go for simple Japanese ala-carte meal for two already.

Maybe top up a bit only.

Eh...what I meant was, if the AF for Plat is waiveable, why not possess it if you are qualified? I am also reluctant to pay AF for any cards, not even if the AF is reduced to RM80. It's ridiculous to pay the RM800 AF!I'd rather wait till a clearer situation that AF for Plat is comfirmed waiveable, then I'll decide whether I wanna apply for it. Although the newly-launched Amex gold cc looks OK, it doesn't attract me much compared to other CCs offering high cash rebates. However if Amex Plat cc is also free for life, it will be a different story then!
Anyhow, I think girls are more concerned about bill settlement by guys rather than seeing what kinda cards guys are holding. I should put a non-discriminatory statement here.

Oh, if can waive, yes. This is the recent case with me. My Maybankard Amex Credit Card (sorry, I know this is Charge Card thread) 3 yrs waiver is up. I don't like to call up to
beg for AF waiver, but this Maybankard Amex (2x TP) serves me well (until last week they announce Amex's Amex

). I called up nicely to ask for waiver. Finally they waive the RM130 for gold card. If they don't want to waive, my next action is simple. Downgrade to classic, and I pay the smaller AF.
RM800 for the Amex Plat Credit card is way too high for me. I don't utilise the benefits or high-end restaurants or fly a lot nowadays (lounge). I don't golf, I play
bedminton badminton. I shop more in Jusco (groceries). Very rare in Parkson for 10x MR. Nowadays, I don't swipe multiple thousands every month. Hence, I did not even think of applying for it.
Haha, what if the guy pulls out plat card, swipe but cannot go through. Finally ask the girl to pay first
