I'm so disappointed today that I couldn't get MBB AMEX. The CS called me today to verify my application and I asked will I get the free for the first two years offer. She said that it's meant for new application. She said that since I'm just adding another card on top of my MBB Visa, I won't be getting that for free even for the first. I double confirm if I'll be charged upon receiving the card and she said RM60 will be charged.

I just found out about the Turbo membership! So wasted! I just spent 20K on a down payment on my car, and charged it to my AMEX Kris Flyer card thinking it will give me the best air mileage...turns out it's not!

If I had charge it to a normal AMEX I would've gotten a better mileage return sad.gif
*
Wow ... did they charge some fee on the RM 20k downpayment? 3 to 3.5%?

Are  you applying for Amex Charge or Amex Credit card?
i apply both almost the same time, and both give me free annual waiver.
*
AMEX Credit Card. The bank staff told me if I apply, I'll entitled for free waiver for the first two years.

Then, I confirm again with the CS and they told me that if I were to apply from the branch, I'll get free waiver for the first two years.

Next till the day they called me to verify my details and application, I asked again about this and the CS told me that since I'm adding a additional card on top of my MBB VISA, I won't be getting that and on top of that, I'll be charged RM 60 immediately upon receiving the card for annual fee. I was so furious and asked to cancel my application!

MBB AMEX is free for first 2 years if you apply at the branch (new application). Not sure if it's the same for AMEX charge card.

Usually bank will charge for replacement unless you can press the CSE not to charge on the replacement fee otherwise threaten them that you're going to cancel them.

For your case, I guess that you have keep on bugging them till they reverse the charge or what so ever.

I'm not expert in this. I don't really dine that frequent in those restaurants.

why u ask so?
shd be acceptable.

Because yesterday I was hesitated to give the cashier my Visa or AMEX.

Ended up, I gave her my Visa. I do know some CIMB merchant accepts AMEX like Giant, Sunshine.

How about Kedai Tenaga?

Maybe your card is defective, the terminal got problem or the line is slow. A lot of possibilities.

then got point to use. but no point to use in KFC.

My point is to try to create a list of merchants that accept AMEX for new AMEX user guidance.

My next try will be Perodua SC and Sushi King.

MilesAndMore, perhaps you can share your experience too.

We can compile a list and TS to put in post #1.
