Hi IT guys, do you have any recommendations for a free alternative to AnyDesk?

Rustdesk.
It is free, but slower compare with AnyDesk.
It will be as good as AnyDesk if you able to host a server.

if hosting is troublesome...

I have the same issue earlier. Teamviewer is probably the best but I have hit with limitation after they said I used it for business purposes. So I managed to dwell into using Remote Desktop Access function of windows 10 pro.

This is the best remote desktop control ever, even better than teamviewer in my opinion. You will need windows pro to have that service though. And need to tinkle a bit about how to open up the port of your PC, port forward your PC, making sure you have PUblic IP on the target PC site (or better, fix IP).

It took me a while to learn all that since I am not that tech savvy. But its all worth the effort.

Been using Ultraviewer as alternative to Teamviewer ever since they implemented the limitation.

So far so good.

from LAN to LAN or WAN to LAN?

If LAN to LAN, vnc, nomachine, RDP is good enough

for WAN to LAN, I use google remote desktop now.

For Home Use the suggested :-

1. UltraViewer
2. AnyDesk
3. RustDesk
4. UltraVNC
5. Microsoft RDP
6. TeamViewer


For Enterprise Use :-

1. RustDesk (Self-Hosted/On-Prem)
2. AnyDesk
3. TeamViewer
4. UltraViewer

Free version always have its own Pros and Cons, it is up to you to decide which works best for you.

For Home use it will not be much a hassle since you will not be managing much quantity of Computers.
But for Enterprise use, it is always recommended to get those subscriptions based like TeamViewer or Anydesk, because you will be managing a lot of Computers and it make sense to have a subscriptions.
