Looking for a new wifi adapter.. a lot of types wifi adapters in the market.. plan to pick the most budgeted and most satisfying one..

Just survey online... can get below RM30... for 1200Mbps 4 Antenna USB 3.0 it is trusted to use at home for my 800mbps unifi? or go to a trusted brand such as TP-Link and so on.

Look for WiFi adapter with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth. Easier like that. Tenda and Ugreen good brands too

Buy a reputable brand to avoid headache.
Wifi 6 should be a minimum, and no compact dongle like the wireless mouse. It hurts the performance so much compared to normal wifi adapter.

Firstly, have the expectation that despite them saying 150/300/650/1200/1800/3000Mbps, you will NOT get those speeds

its a bit of rounding up, and also counting download and upload together, and being in a perfect lab environment with 0 interference

like, a typical N150 adapter will get you real world speeds of about 38Mbps, but hey they are cheap, like less than RM15

for wifi 6, it really should be AX1800 or better
the lower tier ones like AX286/300/900 are not so great, especially the 286/300 ones as they rely on AX 2.4Ghz that not all routers support

of course, the price is higher for those

And, if it is a desktop, please get a PCIe card instead, brand doesn't matter too much as most of the AX3000 ones out there use the Intel AX200 chip (well, the big brands like tplink/asus/dlink/tenda/totolink), it is a very solid choice

If you're using a desktop PC, get a PCI-e Wi-Fi adapter instead of USB

dont trust anything you see on the package, 650mbps is lab tested and in controlled environment, your house got all kinds of radiowaves that will slowdown your wifi

add both 2 together you get high latency and tortoise internet speed, trust me

You also need a 2x2 160MHz router to get that speed.

The best is use another router setup as wifi bridge, your router will act as your wifi adapter but with lower latency and better bandwidth, I have been using my ac68u for many years no wifi adapter come close to the performance, average 500mbps from 1300mbps 802.11ac bandwidth

This is very true. However, if you have signal strength but no bandwidth also, then you will have no speed

As many article said that the 2.4GHz has better wall (brick especially) penetration than the 5GHz, I found that in my house both are equally as fast. In my two-storey house, the min speed I get anywhere in house even with door closed is 200Mbps. I was surprised because I thought I would need a mesh setup but instead I just need one WiFi router to cover the whole house.

2.4ghz for long distance yes, for me I'd use my mobile data, 600gb with 5Gnr bandwidth lol, can update 2 hoyoverse game without depleting the quota

In most case. 2.4Ghz still provide better overall experience.

Tons of user dont understand how internet work

No matter how fast ur internet, impossoble u are allowed to browse at 500mbps all the times.

Most website dont allowed that, even netflix

Thus, signal quality and router concurrency performance are much more important.

Is like a cbr250 always faster than a ferrari in city traffic.

I'm also still using my GT-AC5300, and it's performing well. The only issue I've encountered is that the power button occasionally requires a firm push to activate.

I purchased it when it first launched, so it's nearly seven years old now.

I haven't upgraded to Wi-Fi 6 yet, as I'm holding out for the Wi-Fi 7 version of the RT-AC68U or RT-AX86U

Well, unless you have heavy LAN activity, the low speed to broadband would make it under utilized.
