doing walk in because i wanted apple to minus the trade in value before they charge my card so my 2 year installments are lower and i didn't have a backup phone.

otherwise would've just did the trade in 2 weeks ago and preordered for pickup last week lol

Damn popular ah this Apple TRX. I reached at 6am but there were already enough people arrive before me that white and desert all out of stock already. Had to settle for Natural. Wish they brought in more stocks

I end up exiting Apple TRX queue. Managed to book 16PM Desert 512 GB for immediate pickup at DirectD PJ. Heading there now lol

Just finished setting up my Desert Titanium 16PM… good experience with DirectD. Replied me the fastest when I was contacting resellers for walk in stocks. Plus I got RM 100 more than at Apple for trading in my 13PM (they use CompAsia), and they let me stay there for 3 hours for the transfer + setting up my password vault and banking apps. Serve light breakfast some more ☺️

I managed to do eSIM transfer just now without going Maxis store. Transferring it as part of setup didn’t work for me - What I had to do was manually transfer the eSIM AFTER the new phone had all the data transferred from old phone already by going to Cellular Data section in Settings.

There was a pop up asking if I want to transfer eSIM from the old phone. I clicked yes, then there was a web browser popup to Maxis website where I had to enter my IC and Maxis email. Then the page said they will send OTP to the primary number for the Maxis account, after entering the OTP my eSIM was transferred.

Yup. TouchNGo eWallet and my HSBC app I had manually unlink from my old phone. Then just sign in on new phone using OTP. Simple.

My Maybank app was leceh. Had to go ATM to reactivate Secure2U on my new phone and wait 12h for activation


Can confirm cable transfer is better. My 250GB transfer finished first even though it was over USB2 speeds and the person in front of me had less to transfer (he was doing it wirelessly)

If you’re transferring from 15P to 16P, then can use a USB3/USB4 C-to-C cable

Otherwise just use any C to Lightning cable to connect your old and new phones (Lightning only does USB2). Even if you started using wireless transfer, once you connect a cable iOS is smart enough to switch to the cable transfer method

Yes. To get fastest transfer speeds, buy a USB3 C-to-C data cable (USB4 or Thunderbolt cable will also work) and then just connect one end to each phone while the wireless transfer is ongoing

The Apple C-to-C included cable works also, but at slower USB2 speeds

Has to be a Qi2 certified charger I think… not many of those yet other than Apple’s revised MagSafe puck

Try googling see if Belkin/ESR/Anker have them

I experienced this a few times (not using case or SP) - but I think it was because my palm was resting on screen and it was being detected as touch. After I adjust my grip I find that I could scroll again

Maybe they need to improve palm detection/rejection in next few updates…
