I changed to physical SIM so in future I don't need visit telco when changing phone... however, during the phone transfer apparently can transfer eSIM too. For those who has experience, does this work? for digi especially.

Digi is free. smile.gif Just need to walk-in. I have been doing that since 2020.

Sigh, looks like this will be my last resort 😂. OCD me cannot tahan seeing the damn red dot.

QUOTE(YoungMan @ Oct 2 2024, 12:04 PM)
It's a common problem with Digi on iPhone. Solutions:
1. Call Digi CS ask them to reset voicemail. Tell them you cannot access voicemail, convince them to open support ticket.
2. Change back to Esim, guaranty no red dot.
3. Change another physical sim (may or may not solve the problem).
*
No. 1 is reliable? I hope… ok will call them up and try it later.

Do you have a closer view of how the edges looked like? This doesn’t come with black frame right. Many thanks!

QUOTE(soonwai @ Oct 2 2024, 06:14 PM)
No 1 didn't work me 3 yrs ago. Reset voicemail didn't work then. Reset iPhone, setup as new phone also didn't work. Ping pong with CS via email for 3 weeks, no solution.

Put iPhone SIM in other phone, OK. Put other phone SIM in iPhone, OK. doh.gif
*
I haven’t tried putting my SIM in other phone, but putting ok SIM to my phone seems to take away the red dot.

I come from 13PM which doesn’t have a battery conditioning feature at 80% for example.

For 16PM, if battery reaches 80% and remains connected eg overnight. If the phone uses power it takes power from the charger? So more often the phone is connected to charger, less usage on the battery? And since it could limit to 80% thus degradation minimized? This would work especially for long drive when navigating Waze with power source connected it won’t charge up to 100%?

I see it charges to 80%, was using the phone while it was at 80% but it never dropped down… When phone is locked it’s providing about 1W power from the charger and when phone screen is unlocked a bit more can go up to 3-4W.

user posted image

I googled and found this about iPhone 15 which seems won’t take power directly from charger once reach 80%? It would top up back to 80% when power drained to 75%?

user posted image

Some additional finding, if using those type C charger without PD, phone battery felt hotter. My office space has a HP docking system that has a type C port conveniently in front… but that port maxes out at 12W and it isn’t PD protocol for sure (5V 2.4A I think). My battery gets pretty warm or maybe a tad hot when compared to charging at home which goes up to 30W and tapers down to about 10W as it gets nearer to 80%.

celciuz limit 80% can help you prolong the battery health for around 4%
*
hmm.gif what does "prolong battery health for around 4%" means? Like 80% drop to 75% then it will charge back to 80% as per the description for iPhone 15 you mean?

and one more thing that consumed a lot of battery is when on Maxis mobile data. If connected to Wifi, the battery life is amazing but not on Data.
*
If the area you are at has bad coverage, eg 1-2 bars... this somewhat impacts battery life as well for data.

Maybe the extra 4 % is from the part of 20% which was never used.
*
Based on the review link, he has more cycles (more usage) but less battery degradation. But he did say he don't leave the phone on the charger for long time... this few days I left it and tried to monitor what it does... when it has reached 80%... if you picked up the phone the charger supplies up to 5W of power... indicates it would be pulling power directly. when phone is idling it is using between 0.5W to 1W.

So probably the longer it is connected to power, less usage on battery once it has reached the 80% mark?

iPhone 16 iPhone 15
Apple 20W brick 18.86W 18.65W
Apple 35W brick 30.55W 24.85W
Apple 61W brick 30.27W 25.03W
Anker 65W brick 31.47W 25.13W

Need 65W Brick to get optimal charging but anything above 35W is good.

*
Third party can look for 45W, those can handle 15V mode...when my battery is low eg. 20% it would be charging at 30W and if I'm using the phone at the same time it goes up to 35W or so.

I think not just consider speed but the longer period heat generated. So far I got Anker and ugreen 100/200W, it’s charging and so far don’t feel heat. If slow charge, I do feel the phone heat a bit.

Of course slow charge va fast charge might cause heat. I think important to have a good charger and observe.
*
Seems like I'm not the only one noticing this!

My office docking hub has Type-C but that one doesn't support PD. It only does 5V 2A ~ 10W, and phone gets pretty warm or maybe consider hot already.

Funny enough is, when I charge at home even when it shows 30W but it is about the same heat if not less.

When want to snap pic and do editing then turn off , else your photo will look yellowish but in fact its not 🤣

turn on true tone can potect your eyes (not sure how true is it)

On android i do on the "Eyes Protection" and it make the screen look more warm and yellow
*
True Tone is to reduce the impact on your brain... less blue light at night so you can sleep easier laugh.gif

Weirdly idont see any reviews on 25 watt magsafe with iphone 16 PM.  With Ego wireless im  getting 20-25 watts ( reading from wall) but its bot 25 watts into phone. So i wonder if magsafe with braided is truly 25 watts into phone or just wall reading

https://www.macrumors.com/guide/iphone-16-fast-charging/
*
You mean the ego wireless is pulling 25W from wall...? iPhone 16 the magsafe coil is max out at 15W right... probably pulls 25W and inputs 15W at max only due to the charging losses? Wireless isn't the most efficient way to transfer electricity after all.

UGREEN NEXODE GaN FAST CHARGER <-- this one? About RM350 for the charger mega_shok.gif

I use cheaper Ugreen that can handle 45W... able to sustain 30W charging when battery is lower side, and if I use phone at the same time it goes up to 35-38W.
