Yes. I carry an airtag in my wallet and my friends say they kept getting unknown airtag notification whenever im around

When the Air Tag is not within range/loses connection to the Owners/Paired phone,

and another iPhone detects an unpaired Air Tag following it for 15 mins, it will notify...

For car, I'd just use an old phone, wire it to the car for power and hide somewhere.

Then just use some Find My Phone app...



But yea, it's more exp since you have to pay monthly sub...

thru cellular data or wifi or bluetooth

coz most ppl off bluetooth

bluetooth, only work if there's a lot of iphone around and they don't turn off bluetooth
also the theives don't use iphone, iphone will tell them there's airtag around and help them to find it

i think it is still work even with bluetooth off. just like how you can still use find my when your phone is off.

Put airtag inside the tayar..

because there's other iphone users around with their bluetooth turned on
then the signal relay to their iphone using bluetooth and sent to apple using their mobile data

so you will get approximate last known location from the airtag when you're not near it
but in order for you to find it, you will need to get close to it and bluetooth to make it chime and get precise location

that's why i said it won't work, if the theives is using iphone too, because they implemented anti tracking
cause their iphone will let them know they are being tracked and help them to get rid of the air tag

the airtag will chime, but there is a way to remove the speaker

airtag uses the UWB other than BT which piggy back onto other iphone UWB system

so basically when it leaves the BT range, it pings onto other user's UWB compatible iphone nearby to bounce the signal around to approximate the last known location. it is then uploaded to the tracker's Find My app.
