i like your review bro!
being a F1 fan myself many years ago, i find the technicalities were pretty well captured in the movie. my companions with me for the movie also commented he felt the movie was an overarching F1 advertisement which rocks! while the lady who never follow F1 in her life also finds it engaging.
of course, f1 being f1 has so many rules which they didn't explain every single one. but many of the more intriguing rules were pretty well explained. team strategies were also brilliantly captured (i.e. 1,2 stops, slick, hard, soft tyres, etc).
only grouse was to solidify sonny hayes as a god-like figure making the whole team feels pretty useless which isn't the case as each person was meant to be like the absolute best in their field.
for racing film, driven starring slyvester stallone is also very endearing to me personally. while driven focuses on action, f1 is more balanced.
i also quite enjoyed sony's GTA movie too.
in terms of actions, i can safely say that f1 delivers more adrenaline than jurassic rebirth (which i caught yesterday).
I honestly still don’t understand some of the comments saying it wasn’t great or didn’t live up to expectations. For me, it actually exceeded them. The fact that the filmmakers were bold enough to set it within actual F1 events, using real racing drivers and team personnel, is unprecedented. They could have easily gone with entirely fictional teams, racers, and tracks - but they didn’t. This was grounded in reality in a way I didn’t expect.being a F1 fan myself many years ago, i find the technicalities were pretty well captured in the movie. my companions with me for the movie also commented he felt the movie was an overarching F1 advertisement which rocks! while the lady who never follow F1 in her life also finds it engaging.

Was the story realistic? Not really. It was definitely a Hollywood take. But in my opinion, it absolutely worked. I think some die-hard F1 fans might be nitpicking (even I caught myself doing that, realizing Sonny Hayes and Joshua Pearce’s races would’ve broken a dozen rules or more). Just enjoy it for what it is, especially in cinematic IMAX. One of the strongest films I’ve seen on the big screen.
