QUOTE(hamster9 @ Nov 25 2007, 08:53 PM) hrmm..ur previous dog got bark bark etc or not? else they must have nothing to say and they cannot shoo you out since it's your apartment. Like me, I dun care what the guards say coz my dog is not nuisance to anybody. But if me, complain back the aunty first..see if she got confront you or not? hehehhe..let her taste of being complained yalo...my dog also "m zhang hei" la...he barks, but then the only auntie very fussy one...abit abit like to complain but under apartment law, management have their rights to bring away our dog or either report to bandaraya, we are still guilty of having pets at apartment |

QUOTE(hamster9 @ Nov 30 2007, 12:31 AM) if me, just complain. then if the management wants to get your dog, keep your eyes open if there's other unit having dogs as well and make sure theirs are taken away too. things went quiet down when i sound this to the management since my dog isn't any nuisance and furthermore for safety measures, find a friend who has landed property and apply the dog license according to his/her address. If DBKL, even nicer, can get those from the post office ooo...but mr.golden not too big if i have it at apartment? but then bark abit oso cannot one...my house here very silent geh...if bark abit also "she" will complain |

QUOTE(won @ Nov 30 2007, 09:43 AM) Thanks for sharing the video. Fixed the link for you. oh, well...I don't reli think that I can get one GR home in short time oso..But Hi summerboyz, Does your apartment allows you to keep dog? From your post, it seems like your neighbour will most probably complain about it. Golden Retriever is different from small breed doggies like shitzu, they will grow up to a big dog - which is pretty hard to hide. Some may be barky like my shushu. Furthermore, GRs require daily exercise to be happy - means you will have to bring your dog out for a walk daily. That will increase the chance of being spotted by the neighbour and management. If you keep them cope up in apartment all the time, they may start chewing on stuff to relieve their boredom. Lastly, GR shed a lot. Is your mom ok with the fur flying around? If she is very particular about cleanlines, you may have a problem there. Here is something to read before you decided to get one: source: http://www.grrcny.org/before.html Do consider carefully and check around first whether there will be any problem if you decided to get one. If you really decided to get one, please make sure you have alternative backup if problem do occur. I am very happy to welcome another retriever owner QUOTE(hamster9 @ Nov 30 2007, 11:09 AM) hehehe...i so bad...poison him more with GR rather than bring him back to reality (typical sales person) you are not bad..hehe here are the few considerations for apartment living based on experience 1. walk the dog (i usually do that at 2am before going to sleep. Hardly people is awake then and the guards don't make any issues unless there's complain.) if you were to go out in the evening or day time, people can see and complain 2. apartment is usually around 600sf to 1200sf. It's small and crammed up. You must know where your dog is limited to go especially toilet training is a big headache. If the dog were to poop in the balcony, when it rains it has no where to poop will eventually poop in the house. Note that GR dont poop on wet surface (for unknown reasons 3. barking isn't much of a issue unless you have GR like Prince or shushu. so far they only bark when they are excited. If someone were to talk about barking in your apartment, if it's sharp and irritating bark, it ain't your GR. GR bark are very deep and bassy. My GR (Queen) barks at owls that come into my house in the middle of the night, no issues at all. 4. If you are seriously into getting a dog, here's a consideration you need to follow to avoid any trouble. This is what I did before thinking deeply into commiting to myself to Queen. I looked around my block and also other blocks, and yes they do have dogs. There's one with an Alaskan Malamute and Great Dane in other block. In my block itself there's 3 shih tzus, 1 american cocker spaniel, 2 poodles and plus Queen a GR. If they wanna remove my dog, they must remove all. QUOTE(chibi_tenko @ Dec 4 2007, 11:19 AM) Actually, all dogs also shed alot - just that long furred dogs bunch up into 'tumbleweeds' compared to short hair dogs that scatters all over the place I sometimes sleep with my Chelsea on my bed, no problem also ar. Big big furry furry warm warm de. Of course, the bed will have their saliva stains and fur le but I change my bed sheet frequently, so no problem. However, Chelsea tends to tear up my parents bed sheets once in a while. |
