you cant check for HD untill your puppy is 1 year old.. you have to bring your puppy for a hip scan to see their score...
The only way you can check when you want to buy a puppy is to check whether if the parents of the puppies have good hip scores..this will more or less ensure that the puppies should be ok ( Nt 100% though!)

technically...you are not supposed to breed the dogs unless both parents have hip scores of a certain level.. But...in malaysia..due to the demand for cheap GR..no one really care and people with a male and female GR wants to breed their puppy..
Hence you see a lot of golden retrievers here with alot of health problems...
do look for a breeder that makes an effort rather than looking for cheap GR...in the end..the vet bills will more than make up the difference  =0

Wanna know, in wat range age is easiest for us to train the puppy ?

My 5yr old Golden also sheds a lot espcially after a bath.  She had that problem once where the fur on her chest was dropping till i could see the skin.  I had been mixing wet can food with her dry biscuits.  Vet advised that she could be allergic to beef.  True enough once I stopped all the can food(even tho it says chicken on the can, most of them contain beef by-products)her skin problem disappeared.
