I browsed physical store found a few laptop similar in spec. But the lenovo loq one(rm 4500), which I heard got better build, better cooling etc, is around 600rm more expensive than the MSI bravo. But I saw online MSI laptop cooling and durability is worse. There is also the HP Victus one, around same spec and price as the Lenovo LOQ.
Get which one better assuming all are exact same spec? They all quite similar

It depends on generation actually, I would say model that is more consistent with decent quality is Lenovo Legion 5

If you need branded with good quality and good cooling, ASUS ROG or ASUS TUF.

If you want to customized based on your preference, maybe you can try Illegear (local Malaysia brand).

I had a similar choice a while back and went with the Lenovo LOQ for the build quality and cooling. It was a bit pricier, but I’ve found it’s been worth it for the durability and better performance. If you can stretch your budget a bit, the Lenovo LOQ might be the better long-term option.

Just my POV,

Nowdays I believe nothing will last long enough... it also depends on your criteria of the "last long...", how long it should works that fall into your "last long" category ? 3 years ? 5 years ? 10 years ? tongue.gif

I always recommends to only purchase a system that suits your current needs with a little bit of extra (eg. 12th Gen CPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) as buffers.

Newer technologies will always puts older generations to obsolete, just see Windows 11 for example, older generation that doesn't have TPM2.0 are not able to be install (albeit there are many hacks available to bypass this) but do you really want to run the latest Windows 11 on an obsolete hardware ?

AI is here and will stay, whether you like it or not, so no point buying a high end specs computer where you are just using it for office workload.

So just get yourself a decent specifications, within your budget and just hope that the next 3years your computer are not obsolete by then.... tongue.gif biggrin.gif

Hope this helps... cool2.gif

If specs are all similar, I'd lean towards the Lenovo LOQ. It usually has better build quality and cooling compared to MSI, and those features can make a big difference in the long run. The HP Victus is a solid choice too, but if you’re seeing clear benefits in cooling and durability with the Lenovo, that extra cost could be worth it.

I’d lean towards the Lenovo LOQ. I’ve had a Lenovo laptop before and it was solid in terms of build and cooling. I’ve read that MSI laptops can struggle with cooling, and I’ve had mixed experiences with HP’s durability. The extra RM 600 might be worth it for the Lenovo’s better overall quality.

The Asus Tuf gaming f16 FX607JU-UN3129W seems to have very good specifications, but maybe you might want to consider :-

1. Upgrade Win11 Home to Pro
2. Upgrade RAM from 16GB to 32GB (if possible).

Then you are future proof for at least 3-5 years, hopefully.... tongue.gif

Sorry, I can't comment on the gaming side because not all games are created equal.

Given today's Nvidia GPU, I think cooling is the least you should worry about. Instead its the power draw of the GPU that you should pay attention to if you want to focus on gaming. Some Gigabyte laptop came with RTX4060 but perform worse than RTX4050 because it was limited to 45w. Check the exact model that you want to buy and Google for reviews on YouTube to learn a thing or two about the specific laptop

Youtube reviews for gaming laptop is the best... would give a better picture between CPU vs GPU power draw struggle.

Go for lenovo legion/LOQ. They built like a tank. Even though Lenovo not market their keyboard to be splash proof, it does survive on my laptop. Recommended

just gotten myself lenovo LOQ ryzen 7, 8845HS, rtx4050, 16GB DDR5

amd fair @ lowyat 2 weeks ago

free gaming mouse n mouse pad, and laptop bag

free tng rm170

after tolak tng end up around rm4.2k for it

actually r5 is already sufficient for my usage. but the r7 has 16GB RAM and better IGPU. pricing wise also few hundreds away. hence i took the r7. my first gaming keyboard and really happy with it thus far

if really your choise is LOQ, get ryzen version. it's really good in temp control. and as for its intel counterparts, lotsa issue with screen, mb and charging issue.

if your aim is 1080p, shouldnt be a problem

anything higher is quite subjective, depending on games also
