Since they have 20x20 of B28/n28 can't they just do 15x15 for 5G and 5x5 for 4G? I assume no data transmission actually over B28 since it's just used as the anchor band.

On Samsung devices it shows up as "5G" within an unfilled box if you're connected solely to the anchor band.

Still n78 and B28 anchor for NSA you think? Or maybe we have enough spectrum in the 2500-2600 MHz range for n41?

Also ZTE is an interesting partner, at least they're not in the spotlight (for the wrong and right reasons) unlike Huawei.

Once DNB2 has been sufficiently built-up, do the telcos have to choose either or they can use both wholesale networks for 5G?

Not an expert by any means but wouldn't SA be contingent on each provider supporting it on their core network?

I saw 100 + 20 MHz. Is it aggregation n78 with n28?

Looks like there is n28 if you go on Cellmapper.

I also expect n28 to perform not so great as it's being used with DSS with LTE B28.

Personally I haven't any issues with 5G around Shah Alam, KL, Cyberjaya.

Is this n28 SA?

Phone shows "emergency calls only" on Maxis Postpaid. First snapshot is Brickfields, second is Shah Alam.

I tried the same on my prepaid Digi SIM and Yes eSIM. It just shows No Service.

Also if a device, plan or whatever incapable supporting SA, will U Mobile's 4G bands be used as an anchor?

On Reddit. Someone claimed Maxis has SA on some certain business plans.

Can anyone verify this?

I guess that explains why sometimes my phone can latch on to n78 alone (but shows No service) on Maxis.

Looks like U Mobile have upgraded this site with the Huawei Blade AAU. They also swapped the radios form ZTE to Huawei.



Doesn't seem it's active though. The 5G part at least. Still getting DNB 5G.

I was living in Canada for a good number years and they also had to rip out and replace any Huawei and ZTE gear they might have.

Funny thing is, the last place I lived, when they were installing my internet, the tech mistakenly brought a Nokia/Alcatel transceiver instead of a, get this, a Huawei one.
