Other new features in SOFTIMAGE|XSI 7
* Support for mental ray v.3.6 with new rendering ‘stand-ins’ that will allow users to offload objects along with rigged and animated characters to the disk until render time, resulting in light-weight scene assembly for much larger rendered scenes, and optimized controls for final gathering and global illumination.

* Delta IIa major update to the lightweight referencing system in SOFTIMAGE|XSI, with enhanced support for clusters and cluster properties, including materials, textures and UVs.
* RTS III -- a new Real-Time Shading architecture that will allow fragment and vertex shaders to exist in one node, and will be programmable and controllable from any ICE attribute.
* Streamlined licensing process dongle-less, with a new temporary licensing fail-safe feature.

SOFTIMAGE|XSI 7 will ship with a FREE Training DVD with Official Softimage Training Material provided exclusively for this newest version by Digital-Tutors. Softimage will also offer many ICE tutorials and demonstration videos that will be posted on the SOFTIIMAGE|NET community training page. SOFTIMAGE|XSI 7 is expected to be available in Q3 2008.

Rec. Retail Pricing for SOFTIMAGE|XSI 7 Essentials will be US$2,995. Rec. Retail Pricing for SOFTIMAGE|XSI 7 Advanced will be US$4,995.

the mat salleh just want to make money mah...

no lah, i think it is maybe the research (r&d) is costly.
the sortimage is a different dcc core writing compare the rest like
3d max or lightwave.
they really throw a lot of detail of it until most of the user
pull back instead of learning it.
most prefer 3d max coz i t is much more easy and more plug-in.

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...t=0&p=18560857&

i hav been using 3d max, maya, softimage and blender.
but the softimage really a stand out 3d package software,

how about highlight some reflection on surface, the back wheel is too close to the wing, the whole is look like sitting on the floor and how about use hdri to highlight it.

no offense here, just some suggestion.

hi, here another work too. show it to u more soon.

All crits welcome.

nice render.
the design look great but need some tweak the perspective.
at the second image the ceiling look like hexagon instead of square.
this cause by too much force/dolly of the perspective angle.
maybe try to set to eye level for a normal room interior, unless have to highlight the ceiling.

the color of the chair is very strong compare the rest of the furniture.
it became x mark the spot of the scene.

overall, great job.

real-time rendering by using directX9.0 shaders, it consists of diffuse, specular and normals, was doing these for upcoming MMORPG game. feel free to give any comment!  tongue.gif  tongue.gif

great work.
how many polygon overall?
the size do matter in world of mmorpg.
it look like medium res model to me.

i love the last two image.
good concept with good detailing too. nod.gif
