Our MBE was ineffective as usual. We only got our LW going when Garnacho came in.
MBE wasn't a false 9, he just hung out at the left touchline position.
Since you missed the game, here are the key events from the game.
Was a good contest, with United edging possession. Felt we had the better chances and if events had gone our way, generally the media would label it as a good win and on to the next game.
First goal we conceded :
Maguire somehow let the ball bounce and go across him without clearing it. It is a known among defenders that you DON'T let the ball bounce.
Ball went across him into a dangerous position. It got crossed back for an easy tap in.
Second goal we conceded :
Ball from the corner went to the far side. Second phase of play. See the United players covering the side circled in yellow.

Casemiro ran into a central position. McTominay mixed up his man. As a result, the entire United team got sucked towards the ball and fit nicely into the red box. See the Brighton line in yellow with 3 unmarked players. Ball crossed in to open players, easy goal.
Both goals were not tactical.
Both goals were players making the wrong decision and were punished.
One of the VAR disallowed goals :
Garnacho beat the keeper and ball was going in. Zirkzee is an offside player, couldn't get out of the way in time and touched the ball into the net.
As much as i would like to blame Maguire for the first goal, i can understand why he didnt just stick a foot there OG possibility or stopping a ball perfectly for someone behind to get a tap in etc, in hindsight probably should have attempted that but it is what it is.
Second goal i did notice both of the natural RBs are at those RB spots, if Dalot is already there why Mazraoui also came to that side idk.
Regardless of the loss, even if we got a draw/win it wasnt a convincing performance. They getting a winner didnt feel like a robbery or anything.
Losing one-off game to Brighton who are a good side sure not end of the world and its fine it can happen BUT we havent been good enough against them for quite awhile, crazy that we are spending big club money, but dont have big club expectations. But nice to see the moneyball club still be a solid PL side despite loosing so many players/managers over the years, admirable.
