how many dutch players we have now anyway?  hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
2 i think (Malacia VDB), but i meant like links with everything Dutch larh may it be from Dutch league, dutch nationality etc. Mount Antony Onana Martinez (Amrabat) all kinda fall into not Dutch but with Dutch links. I am talking more about the future employees, with coaches and now new players.

not a fan of southgate but we have to remember, england golden generation gerrard, lampard, scholes, rio, beckham, terry, ashley cole also can't even reach the final.
current generation is nothing compares to this, yet they reach 2 finals.
*
This euros especially they have been incredibly lucky. So so lucky.

ok la, ffp wise it helps as the books no need recognize all payments in one year yet... gogogo... hopefully this window no last min overprice purchases like antony and maguire... de ligt here we go soon i think... now see yoro wanna join us or not and psg asking price for ugarte... casemiro must go to clear up the wages and earn back some money to cover for the 60mil we paid last time...
*
No difference to FFP (technically it will be more but negligible) it mainly affects cash flow.

if combine with the 8 years contract that chelsea was giving out then maybe more meaningful but unfortunately no one wanna lock with us for 8 years... lol
*
That loophole already patched long time ago. I think a lot of people would lock with us, who dont want free money? Its actually ultra risky, we just havent seen the bad side of it yet with Chelsea. Now max amortization for FFP is 5 years.

Doesn’t look convincing
Speed wise so so + so thin
I wonder can survive in EPL o not
Somemore look like more tricky player than team player for me

Hopefully he will prove me wrong.
*

After few seasons failing to impress, do you think he still got it at Manchester?
Dun think he will come good although I will be very happy to be proven wrong
*
That doesnt matter when you have another winger who was more expensive and half of his talents.

AWB not qualified to at least as back up?
*
I dont think its about him not being decent, he is decent. He has 1 year left and it would be better to sell now if not extending contract. I think if the fee is above 14mil it should be FFP profit already i think.

QUOTE(KennRicky @ Aug 24 2024, 09:51 PM)
Come on la guys, the last season team will get belasah by this Brighton easily 3-0.

Last season we got shot-on target by opponent easily more than 10 times each game, total shot more than 20 each game.
Brighton get less than 5 shot-on target this match.

A lost is a lost, well deserved.
But if that is not an improvement, I don't know what it is.
*
The thing is, maybe its due to us not starting with strikers yea, we have a midfield overload. Once Hojlund and Zirkzee are getting starts i doubt we are gonna see this same thing. Last season we were super vertical, we get destroyed on the counter and Casemiro has no cover and not as if he was on form then. This game sure we conceded mainly due to a few errors BUT were we even convincing? I dont think so.

QUOTE(statikinetic @ Aug 25 2024, 01:32 PM)
Our MBE was ineffective as usual. We only got our LW going when Garnacho came in.
MBE wasn't a false 9, he just hung out at the left touchline position.

Since you missed the game, here are the key events from the game.
Was a good contest, with United edging possession.  Felt we had the better chances and if events had gone our way, generally the media would label it as a good win and on to the next game.

First goal we conceded :

Maguire somehow let the ball bounce and go across him without clearing it. It is a known among defenders that you DON'T let the ball bounce.
Ball went across him into a dangerous position. It got crossed back for an easy tap in.

Second goal we conceded :
user posted image
Ball from the corner went to the far side. Second phase of play. See the United players covering the side circled in yellow.

Casemiro ran into a central position. McTominay mixed up his man. As a result, the entire United team got sucked towards the ball and fit nicely into the red box. See the Brighton line in yellow with 3 unmarked players. Ball crossed in to open players, easy goal.

Both goals were not tactical.
Both goals were players making the wrong decision and were punished.

One of the VAR disallowed goals :

user posted image

Garnacho beat the keeper and ball was going in. Zirkzee is an offside player, couldn't get out of the way in time and touched the ball into the net.
*
As much as i would like to blame Maguire for the first goal, i can understand why he didnt just stick a foot there OG possibility or stopping a ball perfectly for someone behind to get a tap in etc, in hindsight probably should have attempted that but it is what it is.

Second goal i did notice both of the natural RBs are at those RB spots, if Dalot is already there why Mazraoui also came to that side idk.

Regardless of the loss, even if we got a draw/win it wasnt a convincing performance. They getting a winner didnt feel like a robbery or anything.

Losing one-off game to Brighton who are a good side sure not end of the world and its fine it can happen BUT we havent been good enough against them for quite awhile, crazy that we are spending big club money, but dont have big club expectations. But nice to see the moneyball club still be a solid PL side despite loosing so many players/managers over the years, admirable.

Good breakdown.

Immediately my head was like hell no when I saw the news.
When I stopped to think about it.... It became perhaps.

Sancho is a problem and does not play, sitting on huge wages.
Replacing him with Sterling :

- Retains the English player numbers in the team
- Gets some money for the budget if it is a player plus cash deal
- Reduces the wage bill. No way Sterling is anywhere close to Sancho wages.

I'm not saying Sterling is a good addition to the team. All I am saying is that it looks doable from the Finance department perspective.
*
Brother, Sterling wages are higher than Sancho's.

That deal makes 0 sense for either clubs, sure Chelsea wanna get rid of Sterling, but why do they need Sancho? They already have a lot of wingers and they also have their own expensive flop.
