TM no longer want to maintain copper line, partly because of cable theft. Fix line is now bundled with Unifi fibre broadband.

They have not been updating the details about the voice product… as far as I know the charging block is still in 60 seconds.

My unifi package comes with 600 minutes free calls per month. No more stand alone phone line as far as I’m aware. I think one of the reasons is the older folks now use WhatsApp to make calls taught by their kids. I have to get a 2nd line for the older folks because of this reason. As for me I have to subscribe to an unlimited calls data plan.

They have move everything over to VOIP. Our company has copper line and it was troublesome everytime it rains. Recently it was down again and TM literally told us they are dismantling the box and moved everything to fibre. Since we do not have fibre service, they gave us these 5G modem which connects to landlines phone. It was not stable at all and customers are claiming calls are hard to get through.

Just remember, sometime last year TM stopped all old copper wire landline and all Streamyx customers had to upgrade to fiber optic where applicable. My SIL was one of them.

old school "POTS" (Plain Old Telephone service) is dead you have to subscribe to their fiber service to get a landline number for old customers, they encourage you to signup for unifi, but if you dont, they provide a "Nanominds WHP-S20" which appears to be a rebranded ZLT S20 4g router with wifi features removed which your old landline phone will connect to the experience is kinda poor as the router randomly looses signal and the ringer behaves like "on for 2 sec, off for 2 sec, repeat" which is not super good as you may think the call has dropped while moving over to pick up the phone Anonymous34 liked this post

I was given a VOIP port which is attached with a cordless phone when I first subscribed to Unifi Fibre in 2014. It has a 03-xxxxxxxx number which I believe is considered a land line. However I rarely use it to make calls. |

So this is what I can get
Reason from agent : Upon checking, your area is in the migration area to Unifi fiber where Cabinet Stop Restore Replacement plan offered : migrate to the WHP (Wireless home phone) plan Difference : current plan uses copper cable, the WHP plan uses a wireless signal Customer will be migrated to the same plan and package. (whatever copper line plan you on, same rental fee and call rate) Current plan will be terminated if you do not agree to this migration Contract 12 months after migration completed Same line number as of now Notification about the migration should have been sent to the customer via email before (couldn't find any, and I wonder how for those without) Agent will help open a report to respective team if customer agree to migrate to the WHP plan on support call Migration team will explain to you the plan change process during a confirmation call Confirmation call will be made within 3-5 working days (my case) |

Wonder how the so called Wireless home phone set up? Anyone mind to share? Its based on their 4G... although they kept saying its 5G based, but when I check the modem/router webgui, it only connect to either band 5 or band 20 (iirc). Basically its P1 if you remember who they are before TM bought them out. Line quality is a mix bag with customers complaining hard to reach us. I even had to set it to only connect to band 5 to prevent it from switching too often and causing instability.Personally I think better switch to mobile line terus. More stable.
