As for me renewed at the post office if im not mistaken somewhere around oct 2023, they said no physical card anymore, they asked me to check thru myjpj app

Just an update...

Went to JPJ putrajaya today at around 11am. Had to install their app...JPJeQ to get a que number...still can get number...but there were abt 50 numbers ahead of me. But was out of there by ard 1pm.

Note that this is ramadhan time ya. Normal days may differ

Went there coz i wanted to do the physical card and also IDP as ill be travelling.

For idp they need my picture n photocopy ic...these can be done at the insurance shop on the ground floor (rm11). Idp costs rm150

For physical card, I printed out my flight ticket n handed them together with the form which u get at the reception. Weird thing is, they used the same pic for idp for my physical card. This picture is diff from myjpj app n wont update. Ask them they said pic is from ic n its ok for the pic to be diff...hentam sajalaaaa...this cost rm270 for 10 years... U get rm30.discount if u renew 10yrs hence rm270

for the physical lesen card, what is the form about ?
Last year when I applied for the card, they didnt ask me to fill up any form.

actually i think the form might be for the IDP and not the driving license card.

i did all at the same time so i just handed in everything to the officer.

for IDP application, other than passport sized photo and ic photocopy, anything else needed?

Just a simple form you have to fill out which you can get at the entrance

Actually it's a hassle for us incase going for holiday overseas, need go to jpj to apply for it 😌

Just sharing that I got mine at JPj Padang Jawa this morning. Need to show proof that you r travelling. Last month I did msg jpj negeri selangor via fb messenger to ask if there is stock. Was told piority given to those who r driving overseas. Provide evidence like flight ticket or document keluar negara. I asked is document keluar negara passport or visa. Was told visa. Anyways these were what i presented to officer - hotel booking in SG, my US visa and company email on a upcoming workshop which flight tickets have not been purchased. However, was told to provide a copy of IC. Didnt have one on me so had to go photocoy there and paid rm1.60. All worth it coz i got the physical driver license. 😀

Loke gor want to increase revenue mah. Charge you same license renewal fees but don’t give you the physical card - immediately save his cost.

Correction. I checked the receipt was charged rm270 for 10 years. So i guess no addiontal charge for the physical license. And the photo copying was rm1.20

The physical driver's license card is damn precious, I store it in a plastic sleeve to maintain it in mint condition for the next 10 years

Got mine on 2 Mei 2025 at Wangsa Maju.

Brought supporting docs: Agoda hotel booking, TM2 immigration form (Thailand), scanned copies of IC and old license just in case.

Must have JPJEQ app. Some unlucky people had to download there and then.

JPJEQ was offline for 20 mins so everyone on my Q was worried. Luckily it went back online.

JPJEQ had 99+ num giliran ahead of me. They said maybe come back after lunch at 2:45pm (mind you, it was only 10:30am that time). Luckily they changed their strategy and told us to Q at this special line consisting of people strictly wanting to have physical driving license.

Got mine around 11:30am.

Took 10 years RM270. They take credit card including Amex. New license says expiring 2035. The old one expiring 4 Mei 2025.

They don’t take the old license. So at home just keep somewhere and make sure only current one in my wallet.

Yeah, key point is to err on the side of caution in case they asked for something you’re not prepared for. So bring as many supporting docs as possible. It’s quite a hassle to go to only selected few JPJ (take annual leave, driving, parking, most of these branches don’t have LRT lines nearby also).
