So guys where can we go in the Klang Valley to renew and get a physical driving licence?

UTC Selangor, Shah Alam.

But it is just a physical printed small piece of paper. You need to laminate it afterwards.

If you want the card like license with your pic, you need to show your flight ticket, as physical license is usually needed for overseas car rental registration

Damn so mafan leh, our driving licence is an important government ID but make it difficult HAIYA.

So either JPJ Padang Jawa, UTC Selangor, Shah Alam but have to bring some proof of reason for needing it. Like booking details of flight, accommodation or car rental.

Also, is our driving licence still valid if the picture is blur a bit. My driving licence picture was recently updated (with my update IC photo) on the MyJPJ app but shows a grey box on the bottom of my picture. My face is still recognisable it is just annoys my OCD, is there a way to fix this?

I read somewhere (MyEG FAQ) that if the picture was blurry it meant that the picture was not extracted properly. If any you guys have a similar experience do share smile.gif

It's such a hassle when you want to rent a car overseas that doesn't requires a IDP. Out of so many good things AL has done, this is a stupid one.

Smart what
He whack additional money from rakyat for physical copy but disguise it as convenient and digital. Besides you think kampung people gonna travel and rent car overseas?

His department become profit center instead of cost center.

If only his cleverness was used to help us instead of bleeding us dry. Road so many potholes don’t fix. Lorries and busses killing people everyday also no enforcement.

Just same shit like his predecessors. Where got difference.

On a related note, does anyone here know whether an expired drivers licence can be renewed, without requiring repeat examinations etc?

My Malaysian drivers expired decades ago (I still have the physical licence) since I drive using my Singapore and Australian ones. Just curious, that’s all…

I think instead of appealling your expired Malaysian driving licence (DL), would it be possible to to just convert your Malaysian DL using your Singaporean/Australian DL?

I'm not sure but I think you can get the hardcopy DL if you have proof you need it, like flight tickets, accommodation, or any evidence proofing that you need it; wouldn't want to drive in another country illegally right. sweat.gif

It's just frustrating that getting your physical DL is difficult these days.
