Those who own previous iPad Pros accessories eg Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil 2 be warned, the old models of these Magic Keyboard and Pencil 2 will NOT work on the 2024 iPad Air and iPad Pro models.

This made me do not want to upgrade at all, because it means I would have to sell my accessories and buy new ones.

If you upgrade to 2024 iPad Air/Pro, your choice is either the new Pencil Pro, or either downgrade to the inferior USB-C pencil.

Your old Pencil 2 > USB-C Pencil due to the USB-C pencil has NO pressure sensitivity and NO double tap gesture and NO wireless magnetic charging.

So the only option is to get the Pencil Pro which cost even more to have some existing pencil 2 feature + some other nifty features.

actually M4 is cheaper to produce compared to M3 as mentioned by TSMC, so more profit for Apple.

It’s the opposite for me - started of as a PC Masta Race dude with the most up to date PC hardware etc2 (thus why i joined Lowyat.net in the first place),

in the end i prefer a simple machine and powerful enough to handle all the task i needed done.For more serious task i use a Mac(even retire my Win PC lol) at my home/office workstation. Who would’ve thought i went with an Apple product in the end LOL

iPad is just the right size that I want something that just works most of the time that i can bring with me if i need to travel etc2 for presentation, simple office app works and meetings with my staffs.

Looks like after conversion is better for me to get it in HK rather than Malaysia. Saved about 8%

Yeah its our currency situation plus import tax I think, quite a huge bump. Not to mention the 200-300 usd price increase compared the previous iPad Pro

Actually the price for new iPad Pro 11-inch starting price is not considered a lot more ex than before.

Considering these major upgrades
1) oled display (last time just lcd and not even mini-led like 13 inch)
2) 256gb starting storage option instead of 128gb.
3) 2 gens upgrade of SoC.

What do you think of the ipad pro 11 inch new aspect ratio of 3:2? It would be narrower compared to the old ipad pro 4:3.

Aspect ratio is the same at 3:2 leh. Dun even see that any previous iPad Pro is on 4:3.

Ipad pro 10.5 inch resolution is 1668x2224 which is 4:3 or 1.33

Previous ipad pro 2022 resolution is 1668x2388 which is 4.29:3 or 2.86:2 or 1.43

New ipad pro oled resolution is 1668x2420 which is 4.35:3 or 2.90:2 or 1.45

Still slightly longer and narrower right?

u are comparing to old ipad pro? the super old first gen ipad? that one of course there is a difference.
to be frank that ipad pro should have been obsolete by now rite?

newer one has wider width and more pixels than previous, now it is at 3:2 for all newer ipads...

however, dun see any much difference in experience... long long time ago when apple switch from old 10.5 inch ipad pro to 11 inch.. no one complains anything....

i am glad that i returned the m2 ipad pro 11-inch....
becos price gap between the m2 ipad pro 11-inch to m4 ipad pro 11-inch is not a lot.. but the difference physically is a lot...

1) better display (oled vs lcd)
2) slightly more pixels also (in terms of width)
3) m4 from m2 is a huge jump and support extra feature
4) camera system lost the wide angle camera but overall it supports more features like pro raw etc... now.. .

Now 2020 still usable not not sure for how long.
Right now even safari less than 10 tabs also like will "refresh" when change between 3 tabs

Another thing i want probably is the HDR screen on 11" but not until M4 11"

seems like indeed the 2nd gen apple pencil is not supported on the m4 ipad pro... then no choice one if buy m4 ipad pro will need to have the apple pencil pro instead...

Else ppl won't buy "NEW THING" , all find 2nd hand market for gen 2

Ya but it supports Apple Pencil (usb-c) so I believe Apple wants to keep Apple Pencil pro as the ‘current’ higher end pen and usb-c as ‘current’ low end pen so the rest of models will eventually be phased out.

any idea when it available in Malaysia.
