If freehold means definitely not reclaimed land right?

Was looking at a house, and asked the sales guy what type of land the houses are on. He told me it's a proper land.
Luckily went to Google street view to check, and the whole area used to be a gigantic lake. Pity those people who bought those houses, 90% of the houses already sold.

Really can't trust these sales people.

Some leasehold land are swapped with freehold land, not sure this practice still valid these days. Good to do land search before committing. Leasehold land is ok if you really need landed as its 99 years and lease is renewable but sometimes cannot trust Land office but buying 2nd hand is 66 years which is not advisable..

Also sales ppl have to cari makan, so a little white lie.. Caveat emptor - Buyer beware!
