you make items without palm oil and sells it - no problem. not everything requires palm oil.

but to [make items that does not use palm oil (either not even required or purposely substituted with something else) AND advertising not using palm oil as selling point] is against local law.

--

they could have promoted something like aiskrim "100% soya" and avoided the scrutiny.

--

air kotak soya berlabel "100% soya" - tak ada masalah.

air kotak soya berlabel "0% sawit" - memang mencari masalah.

this is this, that is that.
the offence is for advertising that goes against our national interest.

it's like hanging signage "rumah urut" and "rumah urut batin".....

--

i dislike the over usage of palm oil in our lives.
i'm not teresa kok; unimaginable to gulp spoonful of palm oil and not be "urrrrrrrgh"-ed by doing so.

i for one, do not buy anything labelled "creamer" when looking for condensed or sweetened milk.
i'm all for zero sawit in those cans.

But they didn't talk bad about palm oil. They're just mainly stating a fact their ice cream has no palm oil.

Some people don't want palm oil in their food. Why government trying to control what we eat?

and that is exactly why the kena, for advertising "no palm oil".
the law already amended in response to europe campaigning against palm oil.

they could have said "100% soya" or just be silent about the palm. just use word of mouth enough la.

--

some ktards always say don't boycott, kesian all those working in KFC/McD/Starbucks.

Well, put your same "kesian" into the boycott campaign by Europe against palm oil.
this boycott based on false lobby could affect hundred thousands in malaysia, and millions if you consider indonesians and more are also affected.

Our agricultural practices also need to reviewed part of the reason we have transboundary haze is all the burning from farming including from palm oil plantations.
Not to mention the labour practices.
These problems and issues need to be addressed and are a genuine point of concern for end users and sustainability.

Boycotting McDonald’s while still lepak on X and Fb is just dumb and lazy when it only affects our locals, imho. But others do what they like.

Kiasu FELDA problem.
Consumers are not given a choice if they want to avoid palm oil in their product. Its against consumerism and human rights.
No Lard. No Pork. No preservatives. <-- these are all allowed.
Only " No Palm Oil" not allowed.
Just to protect the interest of makcik2 FELDA and their cronies.

yes... the law written cannot have anything that will harm the palm oil industry. So the law coverage is very broad.

There’s no restriction if you don’t want to consume palm oil. The law was created to stop the western campaign demonising palm oil and putting such a label on products are part of such a campaign.

It got nothing to do with lard, babi or anything else. It’s all about stopping the campaign demonising palm oil.

just the interest of felda and cronies? that just show how shallow your mind is.
palm was one of the biggest commodities for malaysia.
imagine if everyone boycott palm and we lost a huge chunk of revenue from it. do you think it will affect nothing? think again

then you are purposely campaigning against palm oil in malaysia and yes that is punishable by law.
