PCMCIA and express card is the same thing or what??
from what i saw at the site,PCMCIA transfer rate is 1.5Gbps..
while express card is 3.0Gbps..
does this mean PCMCIA is cheaper??
what is the price for the two PCMCIA
CBSA20I & CBSA20..
what is the different and which is better?

Hi Skyline,

Pls note that PCMCIA are meant for old notebook which have wider slot compare with ExpressCard. Both are totally different slot and technology.

Pls comfirm which type of slots is available on your notebook before decide go for any PCMCIA or ExpressCard option.

CBSA20I & CBSA20 both are using different chipset, overall PCMCIA cardbus with Silicon chipset will have slightly better in performance.
Thanks..

Got the 1414P esata controller from him. Wonderful speed! Transfering a 8GB+ file to external hdd through esta took less than 3 minutes! Bye bye USB! For those with esata external enclosure should seriously consider this card. Safe yourself some times for other things instead of waiting for the usb to finish transfer. Even faster than Firewire 800,

linkcraft, pls advise..

was looking thru your site and stumbled upon the CBSA20 - 2 SATA ports CardBus (Silicon Image). Curious tho.

1) If i plug in my SATA drive thru this (my HDD will be powered via USB), will it operate as if it detects it as an internal HDD?

2) Pls quote me =)

Hi FuGZ,

CBSA20 are eSATA(external sata harddisk) PCMCIA Cardbus, the function just same like USB external harddisk, but eSATA data transmission much more faster than USB2.0..

To connect with CBSA20, u need to get eSATA external harddisk enclosure(with SATA harddisk inside) in order to enjoy the high speed transfer rate as result plug and play external harddisk.

Pls check your PM for pricing ..
