Small fuel tank. Need to refuel often.
Also dunno why for 3 decades they still refused to update the EX5 front drum brake to brake disc. Even 100cc Honda Wave nowadays came with brake disc.

now full tank RM7 .. i can go KL from Shah Alam 3 times

Owner of D400 UG and ADV160 and some few other old kapchais here.

Both motor is fine, but if you want power D400 UG is the one to go. Although FC is high since its a 400cc bike. At least 25km/l or at best 30km/l. Full tank can go 25km/l x 13l = 325km per full tank. Reliability wise quite good just need to make sure dont skip maintenance schedule.

Downside of this bike is you need to spend abit more on maintenance since its a big cc bike. Also abit heavy hence feel abit sluggish especially when you so used to scooter agility. But once u on highway, all of it are forgotten. 150km/h easily achievable.

As for ADV160, its much more comfy but power wise is seemly restricted due to the weight and size of the bike hence top speed only like 110-120km/h. 90-100km/h is the sweet spot for this ADC bike. Also the pickup is quite good. FC is around 38-45km per liter. Full tank means 38km/l x 8l = 304km/l.

Maintenance is also abit more than kapchai since u need to perform oil change every 3k km plus service the CVT belt every 8-12k km. Some fellas claim the belt can last very long (up to 22k km) stated in the manual book which is true if you drive like an ahpek. Better keep some tools to replace the belt + spare belt if you decided to buy this bike for long commute.

Since you didnt provide any budget, best bike for long distance ride is Honda RS150. Not flashy as other bikes in its category but it is a bike for long distance and no need to mod as much to get power. Stock standard is good enough
*
appreciate your detailed suggestions bro, might gvup D400 because daily use must keep maintenance cost to minimum, is weekend ride 1000cc also no issue lol
I actually shortlisted adv160 before this but just wonder maybe sifus here got better idea on better bike.
saw many sifus recommend RS150, from spec list it definitely looks more powerful than adv150/160, but the fuel tank is similar to my avantiz so i might need to pass on that bye.gif

A lot of good advise been given already, ie. riding position etc.

You are currently riding Avantiz 125cc, so let's use this as your baseline. I saw some comment with rather different baseline. My comments below is based on Avantiz as baseline

If you want to stick to a scooter, ADV160 is no brainer.

Simple run about, pickup is great and cruise speed sweet spot of 90-100km also vastly improved from Avantiz sweet spot of cruising. Best take away, large underseat storage makes grocery and tapao run easy. Large fuel tank, with 70km round trip a day, will take you 4 days per refuel. I own one.

If you want to switch to manual bikes, got tapao basket to kiap between your legs, RS150 highly recommended. No worry unlike LC135 / Y15Z hot on kidnappers list.

If you can go without basket to kiap, the lighter the better so do consider Pulsar NS200 that's been around and many shops can service with easy availability of parts. Another is a used CB500X that's heavy on spec but light between legs, but might be way over your budget.

I won't consider KTM (ahem) or D400 (heeeavy as a daily runabout bike)

Lastly, avoid anything sold / distributed by MForce. Product might be "ok" until you need support.

Less worry of ownership with Honda, Yamaha and some Kawasaki big bikes.

forgotten to include my budget, its actually around 12k biggrin.gif
ysuku and lc i dont dare too panas edi, i can imagine how worry i will be even just leave it park beside mamak and go for tapao, nightmare...
for pulsar ns200 spec wise is not bad, but i will definitely add on gear indicator (forgive me for not riding manual clutch bikes for awhile), and buy it used maybe? because second hand price is mampu milik.
I missed kawasaki on their built quality, ease of maintenance and design, but price too keras sweat.gif

The husky is dog shit la. Why would anyone buy that when adv160 is avai9?

Have you seen the built quality? Cut corners everywhere.

ive seen alot of people hype for it, but for me i buy bikes based on the spec, parts availability, maintenance etc, so far not much of issues heard from modern sym bikes, just resale value drop like roller coaster.

based on all sifus professional advice, there're few motorcycles that comes into my considerations:

Honda ADV 150/160
Modenas NS200 ABS

Maybe:
Honda RS150
Yamaha Y16
SYM 185

as for husky 150, i sat on it ytd, seating position abit high for me (170cm with short legs), still no experience with sym aftersale service yet (mforce) so 50/50 rclxub.gif

Forget the ADV150.
Can't overtake trucks properly. Not enough torque.
It's the main reason I changed to ADV160 and happy with it. New 160cc engine high compression ratio high torque nice and lovely.

If you have grudges on seat height of Husky, you are gonna have the same grudge on the ADV. I am 180cm long legs and can just flat both foot on the ADV160, which has a slighly lower seating position than ADV150 of which I can also flat both foot.

NS200 ABS is a bit odd considering you don't want to refuel every 2 days, but maybe 2.5 days with NS200. With what you describe, this seems like the bestest option for you but stick to 2 days petrol station visit.

Go join Pulsar FB group and sniff around.
Throw WTB NS200 ABS post out there and see responses.
All the common problems of NS200 are already sniffed and fixed or easily fixed.
A used one fits super well in your budget, can be had for 6k and below easy, and all the standard gremlins would be resolved by first owner. Find a low milers below 30,000km. Savings from your budget (assuming it's cash budget) you can use for future bike upgrade, or add boxes to this NS200 and go touring.

Honda RS150 3 days to refuel. No brainer workhorse but my personal preference between this and NS200, I go for NS200.

SYM, MForce.. ptui.. nuff said.

Agreed. ADV160 fits the request.

And if need topspeed, we'll spend on Molassi.

currently 60-70km round trip daily, idg when they say more maintainance, pcx/adv150/nmax/nvx is enough already, every 2 month spend around rm50 for maintainance, the key is must follow schedule

There are times I need to do daily 90km non-highway round trip, and I had been doing that on the ADV160 instead of driving. Save much time.

Cruising 90-110km/h, not red lining engine. Always arrive fresh.
