My AD hinted to me that since I don't have purchase history it's difficult to get those cheaper models but if I can start my relationship journey with them by purchasing those higher end ones maybe they in future they can allocate those popular ones for me. So in dilemma now which ones should I start off with...that midnight blue GMT white gold looks tempting though

I haven't bothered to wear a watch in years biggrin.gif

But I advise u to take the model that makes your heart sing, and gives u happiness when you look at it. Looks like the white gold GMT Master II is doing that.

i really don't understand humans and affixation to these expensive ticking paper weights.

you beli jam tangan nak tengok masa atau nak menyombong berlagak?
for mass of population, its not like we'll bother whether you're wearing RM1 or RM100k watches.

AD in malaysia you mean?

my advice is dont believe unless they can give you sports model + skydweller or whatever 'cold' stocks, at the same time

dont believe ' you buy this first, later we give you'

my friend queued for datejust ss lady with submariner 3 years back.
still no a single call received from ad even for the datejust ss.
surprisingly the other person who order a gold datejust got stock before ss model.
btw i read a news from rolex ceo few days ago.
the prospect for swiss making is kinda grim.

hopefully one day enthusiast will eventually get what they wanted from AD.

That’s because you don’t see the value in it

I knew someone who spent S$10k buying just camera lens…it’s just a hobby of his…not doing it as professional. But I guess he see the value in it…

I view it this way too. Then i had money and despite feeling the same way, i kind of understand why people get them. It's all in the crowd.

The people that can afford them are not in your "general population' per se.

Im trying to buy one for my dad. Budget would be anything below 100k rm but anything lower would be nice. If i can get one from ad for 40k-ish then i can get a single plate for him as well at about 50k-ish to 60k. Would still be within my budget.

The above is a cheap way guy of looking. i know people who outgunned one another for number. 1 plates at 300kish. Now these guys are nuts. But again, its in the crowd you're in and i agree with everything you said.

I just wear a Timex or Casio quartz watch bought years ago. Battery lasts 10 years. No worry to shake to wind up for automatics or charge every week for latest digital smart watches.

Surprised my AD told me no need buy any watch for purchase history. Everyone has equal shots getting one. But depends on model availability.
