The problem is the pricing. If below RM100K, it will complete with existing own model.

If higher than that, can't complete with BYD, MG, and another EV.

when excise duty ends... rm100k cbu evs will be say 200k...

The size of the Geely Galaxy E5 is 4615/1901/1670 mm, and the wheelbase is 2750 mm. That make it longer than 4519/1831/1694 mm and wheelbase of 2670mm of Proton X70. Proton X70 is already retailing at RM100k, that will makes E5 an unlikely "affordable EV".

It may still comes but perhaps as the second or third models?

Wait and see first for ckd quality. And if Geely remove some features on our market etc. If in China BYD play factor for EV so maybe BYD car better in future vs Geely

Proton no more Kramjit Singh. No more pedigree. I not interested.

Proton brand has legacy baggage. Don't think it can hold up EV image in market with new players and no ice baggage. Better off with Geometry brand than rebadge to Proton.

Except Tsla and some Chinese newer players like Nio, Xpeng, leapmotor, etc. , most EV makers or brands actually comes from ICE making first including the EV pioneer Nissan, BMW, Volvo, Renault, Hyundai Kia and a whole load of EV makers from China, e.g. Chery, GWM, SAiC (MG), GAC, Changan

So I don't think Proton is that unique in that sense of carrying such baggage
