QUOTE(touristking @ Apr 8 2024, 02:23 PM) For China, you don't have many options. Read you can now tie your international credit card to Alipay etc. I would not be surprised if they also charge you transaction fees. On certain transactions, alipay charge 3%. QUOTE(touristking @ Apr 8 2024, 02:24 PM) Many places like street vendors in China don't accept credit card. You probably stuck with TnG correction. They DON"T Alipay a option.

QUOTE(sadukarzz @ Apr 8 2024, 12:44 PM) So for overseas transaction (assuming if you are using CC to reload) 1. 1% charge to reload using CC. 2. Forex rate different charges. 3. Overseas transaction fee. Gooding? NO. Back to CC you might get better benefits (i.e. PPL spending requirements etc). Bye TnG, better just use Wise / CC / Cash. CC usually charge higher forex rate. If your spending is very low then ok la swipe all you want. If your purchase is big and swipe cc it actually expensive. Haha The only positive thing is you don't need to download other app just to do cross border payment.

QUOTE(sexysarah1992 @ Apr 8 2024, 01:15 PM) Cant understand why need to use T&G to pay overseas. Just use CC la Cc can be used frequently in hotels / higher end dining places. Most small pop shops still accepting QR.

This affects the most to TnG users who travel to China as e-wallet is the main payment method in China. I have not seen merchants or any restaurants accept our Visa/Mastercard during my 1 week travel in Guangzhou China last month. (I did not spend in high end merchants or hotel) Our TnG is widely accepted in China, we can scan their Alipay QR and they can scan our QR without fail. We directly can see how much the rate in ringgit after we scan China Alipay QR. I can say TnG exchange rate is quite similar to Mid valley moneychanger. So now TnG want to charge 1% conversation rate, I think it's is acceptable, it would be similar to bank rate. Just slightly higher than money changer. P.s. I did not spend a single cent of cash in China. I did exchange some cash from mid valley moneychanger before I depart to china mana tau cash has no use at all. now I gonna exchange it back. Sudah rugi. This post has been edited by la bella: Apr 8 2024, 03:54 PM

QUOTE(Lescotesco @ Apr 8 2024, 02:31 PM) CC conversion rate by bank can pakai? Why cannot? The difference of rate between CC and T&G is not that huge anyway unless you tell me you are spending RM10k everyday. Been using CC and Wise card for my travels and never had any issue. The best part is, some ppl topping up T&G with cc . This one really topkek.

I think TnG is linked to Alipay+ Few months ago, with TnG, the merchants need to scan your code. And not vice versa. This month, it can work both ways
