We're talking amending the damn constitution to make it a right. It is overkill and make it seems like going to abortion so common as walking in the park.

The right wing are always gunning to remove abortion rights, and in the US they managed to do just that.
Raped people need to travel to different states to get abortion there now, even a 9 year old.
What france did was to make sure the legality of it is enshrined in the constitution as a constitutional amendment is much harder to pass through than a legality change
It doesn't change the frequency of abortion, it will stay the same, it just secures its access in the future when a fascist wins the presidency
