if you’re looking for kapcai pickup, ok la… but for your size, go for y15/16 ( but clutch la)… i find the alpha seat not comfortable…if you’re looking at clutchless, lc135 should be a better ride..(but budget higher)… else try the wave 125fi…i heard has better seat and larger fuel tank

Ive surveyed the Wave 125i also - cost RM7600 cash OTR in KK.
hmmm... but my budget is below RM6000.... so onli options I see now is the Wave 110i vs SYM 125i sport rider...
(both RM5700+/-... the extra RM300, i want to buy givi and its bracket)

wave 110. easy parts, probably still floating around in market in next 100 years.

but if you ask for best, better go for wave 125. its a cargo truck of kapcai world.

in KK, price difference between Wave 110i (RM5700) vs Wave 125i (RM7600) - is RM1900~ -.-
if really not much difference and can get around comfortably in city area at 80km+/- perhour (taking into consideration my fat 135kg weight)...

Maybe Wave 110i is good and extra RM1900 is not justified~ hmm.gif

Just get a 2nd hand Honda Wave 125i, same price point. Plenty of underseat storage, 125cc engine, full disc brakes.

Agreed on this.. if TS is okay with used bike, that Wave 125 or even Yamaha FZ150/LC135 can be bought with that budget..

I faced similar 'dilemma' before, that was in 2018. Contemplating to get new moped. Was given similar advice by my friend. Bought Wave 125i (2017) for significant price reduction compared to new & similar price for a new unit but lesser model.

Had been using it to go to pasar malam / running errands. Zero issues. Mileage just touching 14,000km. biggrin.gif

In my case, I need a "standard" moped to replace my modded one as daily workhorse.. Heck I spend way less than TS for a used old Wave 125x, just RM1800 used.. but that bike is solid enough to be used as my daily work moped, able to maintain 80-100 kmh speed for my 60km trip distance daily..

Ive surveyed current 2nd hand market for Wave 125i in Sabah, none is selling... maybe its very good that no one wants to sell... biggrin.gif
if worse comes to worst... I'll get the wave 110i instead...

i need a reliable backup motorcycle...~ if max speed 80km/h also, i have no issue for going back-forth to work in KK area...
(just that if pickup is lousy, maybe i have to change to larger back sprocket for the wave 110i)

Me buying a spare/backup motor... probably going to use it for daily use to work, easier to cilok2 than my Kawasaki Vulcan S...

Some have rekomended scooter, but finally i think kapcai still preferable... anywhere in Sabah can repair... plus roads in Sabah nokHaroommm...

So it comes down to these two choices...

Price in KK, Sabah after survey several dealers:

- Honda Wave Alpha 110i = RM5700 OTR
- SYM Sport Rider 125i = RM5750 OTR

both new and ready stock...

Any input/views/comments/experience to share?

Note: me maybe keeping the Vulcan for now...
(posted same topic biker base - but no one there)
