Agree on both platform having their pros and con.
Comparing luxury status between apple and android is just ridiculous. Even my factory many bangkala using iphone. Nothing prestigeous.

Just use what you like.

wife used iphone for many years, then changed to the latest high end samsung....i forgot which phone.
used it for a couple of years, bising how she missed the iphone.
then when the iphone 13 was launched, straight away order the ip13pm 1tb.
been a happy user since.

one thing i can say about iphone is, its durable and last long.
it doesnt go slow or go "bad" as quickly as android phones.

im not the type who buys a new iphone everytime a new model launched.
i used my iphone 3GS for a few years before using iphone 5 when it was launched, and this iphone 5 used for sooooo long before i got the iphone Xr. then after so many years i changed to iphone 12PM and still using it because it is still very good.

3GS - 4 years
5 - 6 years
Xr - 2 years (but passed to my son and still in use total 6th year being used.)
12PM - 4th year ongoing....

maybe my next change is 16 or 17.

so far no issues. maybe a little lag compared to new. battery health percentage is if course not as good as new. now at 79%.
need to change battery or change phones.
if u compare iphone 15PM and then used 12PM of course will feel a significant lag.

the Xr i passed to my son, i did replaced the batteries 2 years back. of course original batteries at authorised service center.

something interesting to share, just so happened yesterday me and wife both did a speedtest for our 5G.
we did it at the same location at the same time.
im using 12PM, she is using 13PM.

my download speed was around 1250 mbps.
hers was 980 mbps. wonder why.

of course in terms of phone speed (lag etc) her phone is much faster.

you know you can use the iPhone for camera and the Android as your main device, right?

i agree with this. the only reason why ppl wonder about choosing either 1 is, they can't afford to buy both.

if you can afford to use phones from both ecosystems, u get to have first-hand experiences on pros and cons. every day

For me, carrying two phones daily is just too cumbersome.

I've seen people carrying two or even three phones in public. I would never do that.

me, im an android user all the while then decided to give iphone a chance so i switched to iphone back in 2020, but regretted then i switched from iphone back to android 3 years ago n never looked back, im not into apple ecosystem so using iphone only while using windows n other non apple pheripherals is really a pain in the ass, and im more used to google apps like gmail gmaps etc, so switching back to android is a better choice to me

my experience:

android (2010 - 2020) -> iphone (2020-2021) -> android (2021 - present)

My 2 cents on the pros..

Iphones
- Huge casing and accessories ecosystem
- Magsafe built in
- resell price

Samsung
- Everything else.

Samsung... lag.... yes indeed will lag after years of using it. I've never used an iPhone before. The flagship S22, now in its second year, it is starting to lag as old models. Samsung consistently faces camera shutter lag issues compared to iPhone. This remains until now. Honestly, Huawei phones are the best. I've used P20 pro for two years+ without experiencing any lag. If only it supported Google, I would choose Huawei over Samsung.

using sony xperia U (2011-2014), iphone 6 (2014-2016), sony xperia compact (2017-2019), samsung S10 (2019-2023), samsung S23 (2023-current).

i choose android for more convenient/customization/automation.

Yes, I used Iphone 12 previously and now moving back to Android phone.

I don't know. I feel that I prefer to use Android phone more compared to Iphone.

The only thing that I miss of using Iphone is using the local bank apps. Using banking apps on Iphone is 10 times better than Android. More smooth. No hiccup and lag like Android.

iPhone camera and faceid. No android has it.
So can’t switch
*
Regarding face id, since you mention no android has it here so some correction,
there was android phone had it, which is Google Pixel 4 series, similar tech as Face ID with 3D Face unlock, which they still keep the top bezel during that time due to this. Unfortunately they discontinued this for later phones.
