Read their FAQ site,

Deposit of rm1500, then they will pasang solar panel on your roof

Then whatever the solar panel generate, you pay at a rate of rm0.46 per kWh.

This is cheaper than tnb highest tariff of rm0.57/kWh.

But rm1500 deposit, consider it burn since u wont dismantle the panels anyways, so dunno how long can ROI

U still have to pay tnb for whatever u use exceeding the solar generation
*
ROI not worth it, you get stuck paying interest for 20 years, more like ah long. Many PET staff rather buy from others using 0% interest. Remember gomen do not subsidise you after 10 years so the rate still the same as you pay for TNB and to Solsenergy monthly. Maacam buy at Courts Mammoth.

Q1) is there a minimum number of years to have the panels installed? What if you opted for it, then one day those regular solar panels become cheaper to install and you decide to switch? What's the penalty like?

2) what if you sell the house? Next purchaser must continue with it?

1) commit 20 years. contract 20 years
2) follow the house title s&p name, like u breaking maxis contract like that. unless next purchaser ok to continue. or u take it move to ur next house title.

i think its how it works

they install solar panels, you pay partial price, RM1500

then they use your roof, to sell you electricity, at RM0.46 per KW, u save RM0.11 per KW after hitting the maximum tariff at about rm500.

but you paid them already RM1500, until you use up to 13636 KW in total, you cant make back the initial investment.

i honestly think u better diy it, they sell you 0.46 per kw, which i think its expensive(unless you dont put your roof into calculation). cause you cant install your own panels anymore after you go with them, your roof space is gone, and they also need some other than roof space in your house. they use your space, and sell you 0.46 per kw.

What's the penalty for breaking contract?

If move it to the next house, means must pay for installation fees?

NEM is using rebate mechanism..if your usage could be offset 100% from the rebate in the next bill, you’ll pay 0.

Solar panel lifetime is 25 years. Itu pun already low efficiency rate la. The offset period for 10 years tu because to give chance for you to consider any other options after your NEM permit reaches its end of validity period. You can continue using your solar anyways, under self-consumption mode. For me, I’d rather go for selco.

Check ROI first. It’s like leasing or financing with higher interest rates. Dun be like B40 nak gaya and end up paying more. You only need solar if yr monthly bills are over RM600 and the incentives end after 10 yrs, TNB will not buy back anymore plus you need to get a battery to store all the extra power after that.
