So wait. I pay 1500 myr deposit for them to use my roof to install the panel.
Then i get to receive monthly billing for them, so that i can pay cheaper power by 10 cent to this company?

QUOTE(Avangelice @ Feb 6 2024, 03:36 PM) Question to all engineers, if I replace a certain Sq footage of my terracotta tilled roof with solar panels, wouldn't my house heat up since it's not a good heat conductor? I dont think they take out the roof tiles and install the panel. The panel sit on top of the roof tiles. |

If yours is an older house please check the roof for leaks and repair before installing the solar panels. After installing the panels it will be problematic if the roof leaks.

I check tnb site, if your bills is high then worth this sub because you pay less than max tnb tariff
If your usage is low, then no, tnb low west tariff still untung sen/kWh 21.80 Sen/kWh 33.40 |

QUOTE(ceras @ Feb 6 2024, 03:45 PM) Not clear how the billing works. There will be 2 bills, one from TNB and one from Solar. So the solar harvested will be used first at lower rate before the National grid kicks in? So if I only use all power from solar, there will be no value to bill from TNB? If I harvest more than I use, I still pay for the full harvest? No idea how it works if use less than whats generatedQUOTE(JoeK @ Feb 6 2024, 03:45 PM) Wait, so instead of paying TNB, we're paying to Gentari, is it? This for those who use more than 1500kWh, so can avoid icpt chargesWith different rates? And how much is the TNB monthly bill threshold to make this scheme untung for us? QUOTE(bereev @ Feb 6 2024, 03:47 PM) What ? I need to pay 0.46/KW ? Ppl install solor was to reduce electric bill , now we install need to pay double bill ? QUOTE(vapanel @ Feb 6 2024, 03:50 PM) Ya now double bill coz you get solar panel for free But you don't need to pay 40k to install the solar panel upfrontNo charge if use less. But the solar company earn money from selling electric to Tnb If more then you will see in Tnb bill. But solar company still earn money because they collect money from you when you actually should pay zero |

QUOTE(smokey @ Feb 6 2024, 03:56 PM) Coz tnb tariff start at just over 20cents/kWh for the first tier of usage. This one is 46cents/kWhQUOTE(smallydupe @ Feb 6 2024, 04:01 PM) So wait. I pay 1500 myr deposit for them to use my roof to install the panel. Yes, but u dont need to fork out rm40k for solar installation. Need to wait those good in math see whats the ROIThen i get to receive monthly billing for them, so that i can pay cheaper power by 10 cent to this company? |

Does not look like a good deal to consumers with savings of 15% only
If electrcity bill is RM550, you save RM80 per month but you have to pay a deposit of RM1500 up front, Your house have to carry the weight of the solar systems for years |

QUOTE(Boy96 @ Feb 6 2024, 03:42 PM) So roughly around RM100-RM200 savings/month? Assuming if dont use more than the electrictiy generated from solarQUOTE(JoeK @ Feb 6 2024, 03:45 PM) Wait, so instead of paying TNB, we're paying to Gentari, is it? Guess thats why they target min RM500 coz by that amount u already hit the highest tariff. With different rates? And how much is the TNB monthly bill threshold to make this scheme untung for us? QUOTE(pobox @ Feb 6 2024, 03:54 PM) Too complicated since this program no cost at all. |

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Feb 6 2024, 04:26 PM) Not sure lah. But whatever it is, your first 300kWh of energy use every month will be more expensive than tnb rate.300kWh * 0.46 = rm138 Tnb first 300kWh = rm77 This post has been edited by Boy96: Feb 6 2024, 04:33 PM |

QUOTE(Boy96 @ Feb 6 2024, 03:25 PM) https://go.solsenergy.com/subscription Read their FAQ site, Deposit of rm1500, then they will pasang solar panel on your roof Then whatever the solar panel generate, you pay at a rate of rm0.46 per kWh. This is cheaper than tnb highest tariff of rm0.57/kWh. But rm1500 deposit, consider it burn since u wont dismantle the panels anyways, so dunno how long can ROI U still have to pay tnb for whatever u use exceeding the solar generation |
