It is safe, depending on what you use it for

just tell us your reason?
for online banking, the state of the art of browser already pretty secure,
assume you're using lastest OS, browser and PC.

P*rnhub access? DNS-over-HTTPS or Cloudflare WARP will do

banks may not even like you using tor, you could be flagged as suspicious

safe? it's not a virus so it is "safe"
but
tor should really only be used when you already know what you want to access and have a reason to access it

you certainly should not replace your normal browser with tor

In my office, Facebook and Instagram are not allowed as network people have restricted its access on normal browsers. What I am really looking to know, is it safe to login our social media accounts on tor?

Tor browser is just Firefox with extra security layer, it should be safe if you use 2fa and strong password, but tor is slow iirc.

Tor is not the optimal solution to bypass this block
either

1. try change DNS or use VPN (depends on how the network is setup)
but if your IT Admin is competent these 2 are already blocked from being changed/used if you are using their hardware
if you are using your own device, then maybe

2. dont try to get around blocks that your work has setup and either
a. use those social media websites on your phone/other personal device with your mobile data
b. just dont use those websites while at work

Not responsible for ANY consequences that may happen to you for breaking their rules, do this at your own risk

IT Admin will probably get a heart attack seeing connections to Tor

Personally, if you are not doing highly confidential/illegal stuffs then just stick with normal browsers and get VPN, Tor browser is so slow in my usage
