I juz got my new comp in Sept and I bought a AVF casing.. I installed a 12cm Vizo UVLED fan as intake, a 8cm fan at the side panel as intake and two 8cm fan as exhaust at the rear..

My idle temp seems to be high:

Field Value
Sensor Properties
Sensor Type Winbond W83627EHF/EHG (ISA 290h)
GPU Sensor Type Driver (NV-DRV)
Chassis Intrusion Detected Yes

Temperatures
Motherboard 38 °C (100 °F)
CPU 45 °C (113 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #1 51 °C (124 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #2 48 °C (118 °F)
Aux 45 °C (113 °F)
GPU 51 °C (124 °F)
MAXTOR STM3160811AS 35 °C (95 °F)

Cooling Fans
CPU 2411 RPM

Voltage Values
CPU Core 1.31 V
Aux 2.64 V
+3.3 V 3.34 V
+5 V 5.62 V
+12 V 12.89 V
+5 V Standby 5.07 V
VBAT Battery 1.36 V

therefore, i planned to buy a new casing my budget is around 200bucks.. but before that, does casing affects airflow?

casing design does effect airflow, the material used to construct the case is always a factor albeit not a huge one....try to do some cable management if you havent done so, tidying up all those clusters of cable will allow air moves smoothly within the case...

but i dont think your temps are too high...aircon room? what is ur ambient temp?

aircon room with 27Celcius.. I would like all the parts under 40 except AUX below 45 and GPU below 50

i don't think your temp was alarming.
it's normal i think. just do some cable management like what seanl told
and
The most important thing, don't trust the onboard temp sensor 100%.
try to do some monitoring with stand-alone temp sensor, if u have them.

it's best if u can list out your system hardware so that we can help out.

alright.. i will try to do cable management..

For ur cpu temp, 1 thing can do is change aftermarker HSF, aside from a proper cable management.

Btw, the temp is taken during idle or full load?

it's not casing that effects the temp.. it's the ventilation of your casing. hardwares such as GC n proc produce a lot of heat and some are hotter than others.. make sure to get something with proper ventilation..get a lot of fans.

alright.. i will do cable management later.. and you meant heatsink fan for northbridge?

a lot of fan.. hmm.. so i want to ask another question? should air flow of the rear fan more than the intake or vice versa or equal air flow?

suppose the intake and exhaust got equal cfm rate, so there is no negative or positif pressure inside the case. remanage ur cable will help a lot in improving the airflow inside ur case... nod.gif

I think it would be better to put 2 x 120mm fans there and also reverse them to make them exhaust air. This should work better as the front is entirely made up of mesh and the negative pressure will surely suck in a lot of cool air from the front.
hmm... juz read through the forum and i found that ianho said that negative pressure in the case is good because it will drag more air from the atmosphere into the casing.. like physics, air flows from high pressure region to lower pressure region.. do correct me if i am wrong.. I did some cable management.. (I am a noob) but the result is quite impressing..

Aux 44 °C (111 °F)
GPU 50 °C (122 °F)
MAXTOR STM3160811AS 32 °C (90 °F)

Cooling Fans

+3.3 V 3.34 V
+5 V 5.62 V

VBAT Battery 1.49 V

thanks you guys for your advices.. i think i will get a HDD cooler to lower my HDD to below 30 and a NB chipset cooler with fan..

Nope, i mean the HSF for ur proc
If u can tolerate noise from ur fan, u can try get a higher CFM fan to push more air

it's ok.. but i want it to be cooler..

Added on October 30, 2007, 4:45 amI am interested to mod my casing now.. it's cheap so i am daring enough mod it.. hmm.. actually can the fan blowhole be square instead of circle? lol.. noob question..

It does effect the air flow..if u casing got many cable or dust..even many fans oso cant make a nicer air flow..bro unsure.gif

There is nothing wrong with your temperature, it's normal and fine.
You are a bit picky about it only.
Cheer up... don't freak out and let those temperature issue out of you mind, okay... nod.gif
