 Postpaid Port out last bill issue

I recently port out from one service provider to another. After successful port out for a month or two, I got call from previous service provider telling me I have an outstanding bill.

The date when I ported out was just a few days after the billing cycle, but the provider people told me, they don't do prorated calculation, I have to pay the full month bill. According to them, it is mentioned in their terms and conditions when I signed up.

Anyone has similar experience in this and what is your mileage ?

ask for bill n statement for unpaid month then use the statement n complain direct to mcmc ...

But you've successfully ported out?

Usually they won't allow you to port out if you have any outstanding bills / payments.
So if you have actually port out, then it should be fine? Can just "ignore" them.

Wow, I requested for bill, they say I have to agree to paying rm5 to get the bill.

Celcom ka? What if you ported out before your billing date? I wonder if you’ll get charged one month extra.

"Before billing date" is actually after the "previous previous billing date." wink.gif

Not really. Usually there will be a final bill, prorated for the days to your bill cycle. If they refuse to prorate please lodge a report to MCMC.

Sounds like most people don't know that there is still bill to pay to the previous provider after they ported out already ?

This is surprising. There always is prorated final bill after port out, be it postpaid line or fibre. Btw name the telco so that we all know. I have port out from Digi previously and not experience such problem.

I will take it up with MCMC to see how it goes. I don't want to disclose the Telco name as of now.

I was using their app when my line was active.

But the app can't be used now after I have already ported out.

Not sure about email. My email is usually filled with too much spam.

Anyway I have the logs of my online session with them and they clearly mentioned that they will not do prorated calculation when port out. Prorate only for first bill.

It's time you go dig out the PDF bill they email to you. Maybe they did send you the final prorated bill because after port out we usually cannot access through app anymore.

Nah. Not possible. My online session with them already revealed that they charged me one full month and the agent confirmed it.

I know exactly the charge for a full month as I hardly make call.
